When people make fun of others deaths that means?

I don't understand why people sometimes take the chance to disgrace themselves. You ever know people like that? I know today because a waiter at a diner was making comments that pissed me off. I almost confronted the 400 lb piece of lard. I even said "real funny" at his comment but he didn't hear. He said whats this guy gonna star in, the fast in the deadliest loudly. He then after that comment goes in the back to get the food comes out and says yeah well that's what happens when you drive like a movie star in your Porche, in which the kid responded, he wasn't driving, and the the fat f*ck just blurbed out something and I just had to shut off cause I was really close to making a scene.

Some people are just jackasses. But some jokes are funny. Well, he'll be missed, he was my favourite character from the F&F franchise. I don't know him from any other movie.

It's funny because these are the same people who try to impress by sounding like some kind of badass. These people are the butt of their own joke. I know a few who are like that, I like to call them the "Bullshitters" because that's what they do. They're bitter over real life because they're either not at where they want to be in life or are the people who live on the internet. Most of the time, it's both. Whenever this line manager I was working with at the Home Depot would talk about how his stuff or his opinion was superior to others, I'd give him a "really?" look and say "sad", then walk away.

Emotions don't have to make sense.

It's more like people paying their respects for a person than feeling down for them.

I suppose your statement was sort of redundant, if your only point was for it to be redundant...

Again, there's a person dying every second. How do you keep up?

Easy, you pay respects for the people you want to pay respects to. No one cares about every human being on Earth, and why should they? Are you the type of person who thinks there is no logic in doing so since people die every few seconds? People who are more successful always get more attention. People were saying R.I.P. for people in the Phillipines just recently. Was that pointless too? If someone wants to pay respects then they will pay respects.

How can you respect a person you dont know? You dont know their names, their hobbies, their families, if they had pets.
But you feel bad because they died, as all people do?

I mean, it sucks when people die pre-maturely, but it can't really be a surprise when someone dies.

The more lives lost will obviously make people feel bad. When something like a natural disaster occurs, people feel that they should pay respects for all those lives because so many were taken at one time. It doesn't matter if you knew them or not. The other case could be that someone you know lost their brother, sister, or some family and they will still pay respects because it happened to someone close to them. Paying respects to people is more of a compliment to the deceased so that the people around them can feel better, kind of like softening the blow a bit. It's not a surprise that people die and that it can happen to anyone at any given time, but paying respects to the deceased is always kind to the family around them.

For celebrities it's a bit different. People pay respects to celebrities because they are on their shelves as actors/actresses, musicians, etc. They're people you pay attention to so they feel more at home when they die, so that's why people pay respects to them too, and also for the reasons above.

@Nibroc420: You don't have to pay respects to every single person who dies. But that doesn't mean it isn't in bad taste to blatantly make fun of somebody who recently died. I wouldn't expect you to cry at a person's funeral when you didn't know them personally but I would assume you wouldn't crack jokes about it either.

To "feel bad" implies empathy. Sympathy =/= empathy.

I don't think there's necessarily some deep, psychological explanation in every case of this. In some cases, people are just insensitive. Period.

Some sympathize and some don't.
