Well that is no good. They're supposed to make us feel safe not scared -_-;
Come to think of it i also get nervous when there is police.
When i was little i thought "yay police now nothing can happen to me".
And now i think "am i doing everything right or is there a rule i'm not paying attention to?"
I constantly scan all mirrors for cops and undercover Ford cars.F1_2004It's a good idea to keep yor eyes on all American cars. Here in Virginia it's not just crown vics anymore.
You're acting like a police officer isn't just some other white person.
I know for a fact that because I'm white, well dressed and walking with my head held high then I have nothing to worry about. He sees me as another wasp
He isn't going to bother me. he's after what he sees as the criminals, the Blacks and Asians, I can rely on his racism to make him feel comfortable of my innocence.
I am a law abiding person but even if I weren't I could easily walk past any police officer and not be stopped,
Do you go the speed limit when driving near/past them? Or always?I constantly scan all mirrors for cops and undercover Ford cars.F1_2004and Impalas. I can spot all kinds of undercover cop cars a mile away. The cops already have the same face with their long antennas sticking out.
Why wouldn't you. Cops are humans and as such I don't trust them, especially with the power they have.
I constantly scan all mirrors for cops and undercover Ford cars.F1_2004Me too! I think it's because there has been occasions where I have had expired registration tags on my truck or motorscooter. I have to say, over the years the habit gets worse. I mean when I first started learning how to drive the rule back then was to check rear view mirror every 10 seconds. I find myself looking there just about that, so considering the math I guess I look at the mirror.... 30 times in 60 seconds? I am sure my math has to be off. The hours upon hours of driving my truck around Texas to California, I dont even want to think about how many times I have looked in the rear view mirror since I started driving. lol
EDIT: Hrm, I think it's 6 times in 60 seconds, there we go!
Not really, I put both hands on the wheel though, that's about it.3DayFinisherI have this problem that I drive with my two fingers: index finger and thumb. I definitely have both hands on the steering wheel when I see a cop for more control. One day... I'll get out of the habit of being a bad steering-wheel-grasper. There have been way too many occasions a sudden bump in the road has caused me to steer off a bit.

JodyRWell generally I'm using my knees to steer except around corners. You said you drive a truck so I understand where that could be dangerous with the heavier steering (unless it's power steering). I try to pay attention to the road to avoid bumps whenever possible, but the roads around here are in pretty poor condition so it's not always easy.
Yep. I also check all the gauges, and let off the gas. I usually get the shivers when driving by cops. Probably paranoia.
I constantly scan all mirrors for cops and undercover Ford cars.F1_2004same here..especially when I'm driving on the highway.
I check just to make sure they don't decide to pull me over.Yagr_Zero
Then there is that moment of relief when they either drive past or stay put. :P

I do the same thing with my left index finger and thumb or with the palm of my left hand if I need to turn. I don't put both hands on the wheel though if I see a cop, never felt that I needed to. I've never had that problem with bumps either.[QUOTE="3DayFinisher"]Not really, I put both hands on the wheel though, that's about it.JodyR

Well I was almost scared ****less when a cop behind me turned on its lights. Luckily it pulled over the car just behind me and not me.Please Log In to post.
