When you first started college did you have bad study habits? How did you fix your bad study habits?

My study habit is to come home from college on monday and lay around until 12-3 am wednesday then I finally study because I have to go to class that day at 9 am.

I need to study first so that if I wanted to hang out with friends or whatever I would be in the clear.

Over 20 years ago now but all I remember about my first couple of months in college was skipping classes to go see my girlfriend, think I only started to study properly after the new year, and still managing to pass the final course examination (I think maybe that says more about the poor standard of the qualification than my aptitude when it came to studying).

OK maybe that's not a good example to set LOL.

From my own superior experience the people with bad study habits are all you dorks who had no lives in highschool and the first time you get some freedom you don't know how to handle it and party too much. I always found it amusing how leading up to winter break classes were almost empty. Then you come back and the schools totally packed because all the slackers are like OMG I'm going to try hard this semester I swearz!

To conclude. You need to live a little in highschool and get the partying out of your system so you don't fk up your studies in college/university.

Secondly, don't marry a chick you met in highschool. Those types of people are the ones who have kids at 20 and never live and when they reach 30-40 start to lament never having partied in their 20's and end up like John Gosselin.

Yes. I actually never studied and eventually stopped attending my classes so I failed. It took way too much effort.

No I've always been self motivated. I always found it interesting how people would drop $15k on tuition and room only to party and fail their course.

Freshman year I basically slept when I wasn't in class. Got above a 3.0 for those first two semesters. Then switched to Biology and my gpa imploded for a semester and I rebounded after that.

I was accustomed to not having to study for anything, so in my third level classes I was hit hard the first series of tests, then I learned that it's best to study 4-6 times, for brief periods and I did much better. You do remember best on the things you look up yourself and share with others though.

I'm in my second semester of Technical College, and I'm a lot more determined to do my work. I still play a lot of games/watch TV/spend time on computer, but I still get my work done quicker now than I did in High School. I was a big Last Minute Larry in High School.

FWIW I wasn't the partying type in college either and I still had bad study habits.

I think it had more to do with the fact that I just breezed by high school without studying at all and I tried doing that same thing in college. It didn't work as well for me in college as it did in HS.

This. College sucks.

Actually I just graduated yesterday. Didn't learn a damn thing I couldn't have learned on the job.
Waste of money and time as far as i'm concerned.

When I first started college it wasn't that I had bad study habits, but that I had bad time management. Now that I'm well organized everything is awesome and my GPA is great. And best of all, I'm not stressed nearly as much.

Ironically I'm in college now my first year, my study habits are atrocious, and I'm currently cramming AND doing an essay in the same night for a test tomorrow that I know almost nothing about thanks to textbook I didn't get until last week.

But instead I'm watching Archer on Netflix and on here.

Yep.

Been there my friend. You know to have to do it, but yet you can't bring yourself to actually start.

I never had good study habits in college. Now I'm in grad school and it feels like all I ever do is study. Except now, when I'm busy procrastinating...

I still have bad habits of studying now.

I need a study buddy... I can't study alone or else I'll drift away. :(

I wouldn't say I had bad studying habits. But, I loved going to strip bars and getting drunk.
