Degree in Computer Science with a Computer Security major will get you a good start.
All you needs is knowledge with a system. Powerful machines or software is a bonus.
Get the game "Uplink" from steam :P.ElArabShut up! That game is awesome man. I have it on in the background all the time, just so I can listen to the music.
You don't learn how to hack its a method of thinking and you either have it or you don't. You can definitely learn the necessary techniques but that won't mean you would be any good.
Also if you intend to cause harm nobody will teach you, those who could would either hate you or turn you in.

Hacking is loosely defined. Hack what? Technically, you could 'hack' a soda machine. rimnet00What, is that the soapy water hack? Or the coin on a string hack, Neither ever seemed to work for me :(

They were both protected against some decades ago, as was the washer trick where you would put cheap washers in place of actual coins.
