That area within the red circle is New York City. The rest of that is New York State.
The parts of New York bordering Lake Ontario are beautiful. I especially love the Thousand Islands region.
Spent six years there.

Apex, NC
Low crime, high standard of living, reasonable housing, excellent tech job market, beautiful scenery, close to two major cities, driving distance to both beach/mountains, very clean,...just an all around nice place to live.
Voted #1 place to live in 2015:

Apex has all the things you’d expect in the No. 1 place to live: a charming downtown, top-notch schools, and the kind of community spirit that draws 15,000 people, or more than a third of the population, to the annual PeakFest street fair. It also has something else: high-paying tech-industry jobs that help make the quality of life here second to none. And unlike that other technology hub on the West Coast, Apex is still affordable. A three-bedroom home costs an average of $265,000, vs. more than $1 million for a comparable house in Silicon Valley.
The engine powering the local job market is the 7,000-acre Research Triangle Park, 18 miles away. More than 200 companies, including IBM, Cisco, and pharma giant GlaxoSmithKline, have offices there and employ upwards of 50,000 workers.
So strong is the pull of area jobs that Stan and Portia Wilson, 52 and 48, relocated their family of five here from Tyler, Texas, in 2010 without work lined up. “We moved on a leap of faith,” says Stan, who is now a salesman at Johnson & Johnson; Portia is an elementary school teacher.
Proximity to the tech hub also gives a boost to the local schools, already among the state’s best. Apex High School offers the Academy of Information Technology, a four-year program that exposes students to the IT field through coursework and internships. When she took part, the Wilsons’ oldest daughter, Paris, now 18, learned coding and software management.
With so many attractive qualities, Apex has seen its population double since 2000. The town has taken steps to address the rapid growth, including a new toll road that cut the commute time to Research Triangle in half, to 20 minutes. And the just-opened Apex Friendship High School, with cutting-edge technology like 70-inch monitors in every classroom and 3-D printers, relieves overcrowding at Apex High.
The community has also managed to retain its close-knit vibe, even as the population has grown, with events like a weekly farmers’ market and an annual jazz festival. “We do a lot with our neighbors,” says Jeisa Pelet, 31, who moved from Boston in 2013 with husband Alex Torres, 34. “It makes for a nice environment to raise a family.”—Daniel Bortz
@trustygamer: and so I knew a face poor enough to be treated as one of them thieving scumbags,I said NO! the eastern slums are dangerous...whatever you do,don't go there or any other slums in the city,I've heard of a recent civil unrest there.
Florida. Not sure why an above poster considers it hell on earth.
Maybe he lives at the Panhandle which borders Alabama. Once you get to the eastern coastal areas and the southern half, Florida becomes more tourist/retiree friendly.
Scotland.
I'd really like to visit Islay and drink Lagavulin (or Laphroaig...or Ardbeg) straight from the cask.
Caldicot, South Wales, UK. Nice little town, got a nice castle for walks (when the weather is good).
I live in Novigrad, it stinks here.
I'm sorry,where is Novigrad????
It's a fictional city in The Witcher 3" Wild Hunt.

He's talking about Novigrad from Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Thanks for the info guys, now I feel kinda stupid. lol.
@brimmul777: It's cool. It's not stupid if you'll never play the game. The username: Rivia gave him/her away as soon as I saw Novigrad and that right there, that's a Witcher fan and it was a joke post lol. BTW you really should play Witcher 3, that game is fucking awesome and since I got this past May, I still haven't finish the game but I should be done with it today or tomorrow. I own Witcher 3 on Xbox One/PC and haven't had any problems with Xbox One version other then, a few glitches but noting out to be a major problem.
P.S there's also another username: John_of_Rivia aka Geralt of Rivia from Witcher 3.

Looks like you're in heaven ....
@chessmaster1989:
I actually been to boston, ma. I like a'lot more than Ny tbh.
I hate my town though, hardly anything to do here. I live in CT btw.
i always want to go to korea.
Just remember not to flaunt anything Japanese while you're there. When I moved there, the movers destroyed all my scale model kits that were Japanese.
Also..... Avoid Seoul in winter. When High Pressure settles over the region, it's not just frigidly cold, the sinking air traps all the pollution in the valley. You could wallow in it for weeks.
@pizza_078: yes indeed,I'm one of the few Indonesians here, another is riou7,a fellow mod, haven't seen him for quite a time, but I don' think I know him personally either
@PSP107: civil unrest, thieves' territory(much like how you see ghettos in the States) and too much hostility, the place itself is too filthy to live for a day,not to mention when flood strikes, all what's left is a roof if the house is a bungalow, another is fire hazard, places like these often got the coverage, which led to a correct portrayal of living in hell among the glamorous business districts.
