Where were you at and what were you doing when 9/11 happened?

I was in a ship driving simulator in Toledo, OH and they came over the radio and said "The WTC's have had planes fly into them". I was thinking "What does this have to do with being in a simulator on a ship in the Detroit River?". Then I came to find out what it really meant when they cut our training session short.

i was going to school
iwas in 8th grade when i got on the bus our driver who most of the time has old rock music on instead had the news radio on and telling us that the trade center got hit by planes
no one thought it was true until we got to 1st period when all of the t.v.s in all of the rooms had the news on
then most of ourstudies where canceled so we could watch to see what was happening

I was at school and the teachers wouldn't let us watch it on the tv. I was pissed.guynamedbilly

what kind of school did you go to? i remember when the okc bombing happened back in 95 and I was in 9th grade at a catholic school and they let us watch it all day and didn't give any classes. did they think9/11 was too violent for you guys to watch while it took place on live news? i'm just curious what their excuse was?

since i was young, back then i was pissed about it being on the news for weeks, it interrupted saturday morning catoons on fox kids (now 4 kids tv)

It sounds more interesting than it is. We were working with some guys in the basement and others further up in the building on a conference call. Suddenly the guys further up the building noted that there was a big fire in the other WTC building. Another person came in the room to say a passenger plane had hit it, but nobody seemed to be sure if they should belive them or not.

At that point it was decided what we were working on wasn't going to be fixed that day due to all the commotion and the guys in the WTC were told to leave the building so we all hung up. I didn't hear from any of them for a few weeks until they got setup in other offices.

It was truly sad what happened, but next there should be a thread, "Where were you when 500,000 innocent Iraqi civilians were slaughtered?"................X360PS3AMD05
