I can't possibly sum up my music taste in 10 bands. My favorites tend to be alternative. However, I also listen to so called cIassic rock, cIassical, blues, jazz, hip hop, R & B, electronica, and even a bit of country, celtic, even some metal. And various subgenres in each category. But to go with my favorite 10....
- The Cure
- Placebo
- Depeche Mode
- Pearl Jam
- New Order
- Joy Division
- Echo & the Bunnymen
- Kasabian
- Bloc Party
- Smashing Pumpkins
Just to scratch the surface.

I've been meaning to check out New Order. Any song/album recommendations to start with?
My taste in music is almost strictly classical, and the majority of OT doesn't care about my list of favourite classical composers. :P
Beethoven
Mozart
Chopin
Mahler
Stravinsky
Brahms
Shostakovich
Schubert
Bach
Rachmaninoff
Tchaikovsky
Haydn
Sibelius
Dvorak
(I know there are 14, but 10 is such an arbitrary number and I had enough trouble stopping at 14). That's not to say ****cal is the ONLY music I listen to but it certainly dominates my music collection.
Hmmm, not really sure how to answer this completely honestly. My taste in music is limited, but open, I suppose you could say. Alot of genres I havn't properly explored is what I'm trying to say, also mostly from the same time period. I'll only listartists (Artist is abetter term than band, band's can be dynamicwith an artist. Notreally important though.)I have music from, otherwise I will just get confused. :P No order.
Led Zepplin, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Harmonium, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Focus, System of a Down, Porcupine Tree, Stevie Wonder.
That's not a very good representation of my taste in music, but it does make it look a bit more varied than it actually is :P.

Nope, Scotland, I actually seen the album, Si On Avait Besoin d'une Cinquième Saison,on Prog Archives ages ago and decided to give it a listen. I found it on You Tube and thought it was amazing, then looked for it at a resonable price for a while. Had to import it from Amazon, well worth it though. I havn't actually heard any of the other two albums though. This one is easily a faviourite though.
I feel like I've repeated myself across three threads .

That's probably their best album. Their first album, "Harmonium", is a bit poppier, but there are still a few great songs on it. Their third and last, "L'Heptade", was a bit too heady for my tastes, but if you're a big prog fan you're bound to love it :)
Take that (there new stuff :P)
Paramore
Micheal Jackson (not a band i know..)
Linkin Park
Franz Ferdinand
Biffy Clyro
Artic Monkeys
.... Amm that's all i can really think of that i listen to alot :P The other bands i only listen to rarely.
