Look i really, REALLY dont want to stereotype or anything but im surprised so many of you guys are saying Canada. I remember earlyer this year a group of about a dozen or more canadian people working for their healthservice came over to the UK to learn about how we run the NHS over here. At the end of their stay my mums work took them out for a meal at an Indian restraunt and apparently they were REALLY raceist and quite rude. Not very civilised in my eyes.

I WOULD say the entire West and Japan, but the US is a tad behind because of those stupid, stupid laws against gay marriage and other such medieval thinking. I'm not saying we're all idiots or something, but laws like that have no reason to exist. I do love my country though and we're definitely among the best as far as being civilized goes.

So in the poll I'll say Canada since I don't want to bother thinking up reasons why every other country should get it.

No it has not. And powerful does not equal civilized. I do however agree that if countries like India should be on that list, then the US fits very well too.

We arent perfect but we are a hell of alot more civilized than China, saying otherwise would be extremely ignorant, and you are being ignorant by not even putting the US up there. The US is the worlds sole remaining super power and by definition that means, a powerful and influential nation, especially a nuclear power that dominates its allies or client states in an international power bloc. If we had the ability to be this powerful we obviously must me in some way civilized to achieve the technological prowess that we have.

I don't think the level of civilization is measured in nuclear power. Especially when US is the biggest violator of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

New Zealand has the lowest Crime Rate in the World so my vote goes to New Zealand
