Which do you care about more? Your level or post count?

I care more about my post count. I think it gives the impression that I'm a regular GS forum user, or that I've been here for a considerable amount of time. A high level is nice. However, once you've reached a certain level and have unlocked all of the privileges, a higher level ceases to be as important as a user's post count. A user's post count really shows that he's involved with the community. Well, at least that's my opinion. I hope to make it to 10,000 posts, eventually.

I care more about level, but it seems that most users care about post count with all their post parties and whatnot. :P

Level. Ther's a daily level cap, whereas there is no post count cap. You can spam your way to a large post count, but you can't spam for a higher level

Neither. I can't get past level 32 anyway. Every time I get around level 32 the moderations begin. I'm not jokingeither. If one of the mods wants to ****with you for kicks he or she can just keep busting you down. I should be at maximum level by now.:D

I agree. I could've been a level 25 by now.

Leveling doesn't require any effort. You just have to be logged in. Seriously.

Post count withing the forums, since a lot of people have > lv 30 and yet are never in any of the forums

I cared more about my level when I was a user at GameTrailers. Over at that site, a user's level determined their "thumbing power". A user's thumbing power allowed them to thumb-up or thumb-down content written by other users (blogs, comments, etc.). It's magnitude was the user's level divided by 2. So, a user with a level 40 (which was the highest), could give some other user +20 thumbs or -20 thumbs. It could really hurt another user's overall thumb rating if they got thumbed down a lot, since the magnitudes would be more than 1.

Level definitely. A large post count just means you you can type on a keyboard.

Hmm.... never really thought about it before, but i suppose the level since it comes with awesome names whereas the post count is just a number.

I always thought I my level was oddly high for my post count. I guess it's because I used to write some user reviews.

I think it's absolutely silly to really care about ether one.

Post count, because my level is pathetic I have less control over it.

I think that a forum member who only posts when he has something good or helpful to say is more useful than someone who only posts nonsense, so I say level is more important.

i remember a similar thread from a few months ago when the poll results turned out to be the opposite exactly.:O

(excluding the posting restrictions that come with being below a certain level...that I do care about).

But everyone that I care about on here knows who I am. Other than that, I couldn't care less.

Though I will say that this thread has answered some questions I had about you
(I wondered why you went from barely posting to making threads left and right as of late...I thought it just had to do with the OTcars TBH).

Some people really do seem to care about these things though
-just look at AtM for 'level' concerns
-just look at the spam some people post
