For me it was The Haunting and The Crawling Hand both from 1963 that resulted in many a restless night as a child.

The Descent, Insidious i thought was pretty solid but i wouldn't say it "scared" me. I guess it depends on what you mean, did it have startling moments in the movie? Or did it have a lingering creepiness that even weeks later you think about the movie and its subject matter...............

Pet Sematary

Being 5 years old and watching a baby kill his grandfather gave me quite a nightmare, but I still enjoyed the movie nevertheless, think I watched it 2-3 times around that age.

I don't watch horror movies. Jurrassic Park scared the **** out of me when I was a kid. (don't laugh) The village was on TV at like 1 in the morning a while ago. even that frightened me, despite already knowing the ending

When I was young they showed "Night on Bald Mountain" from Fantasia on TV. Scared the heck out of me. That was my first real scare.

The Thing - also in TV. Took me years to finally realize I was scared of a carrot!

Halloween (the first and best one). " you can't kill the boggyman." (Shudder) Still gives me the creeps.

Poltergeist. Saw it at the movies and I noticed quite a few people came out of the theater both laughing and crying.

The Exorcist, IT, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Ringu. Probably a few more, but seeing those listed above as a kid scared me, Ringu is the only recent film that scared me since I was a kid.

Can't say I've been "scared" by any movies. I love horror films but they never really get to me, but movies like Paranormal Activity 1/2 (lul) made me jump a few times. Dead Silence creeped me out, Insidious did a little of both, was real good.

Like most people on here, I don't get scared from most horror-films, or easily, at least. The Shining was really the only one to really affect me. I didn't get a lot of sleep that night and I can't look at bathtubs' the same again.

When i was a kid, i saw Night of the Living Dead, Jesus Christ it scared me so much, i was so afraid of Zombies, specially because we live like 2 minutes away from a cementery.

I also so The Exsorcist, man, even today that's a scary movie.

Last one it got me really scared was The Grudge, i remember watchig this movie at 1am and then had to go to my room :(

And the last one that gave me several jumps was Rec.

If I may ask, what scared you about PA ? I watched it alone in a room that I could get as dark as possible. And I didn't find it scary, at all.

I find it hard to find horror films that actually scare me, though one I found quite disturbing was The Blair Witch Project.

These three personally.

I honestly think The Simpsons TV show is more scary then Blair Witch Project or that Paranormal Activiity nonsense. Most modern horror movies are more comedy then horror or scary imo, either that or just alot of violence that isnt scary.

I also found IT to be scary as a kid

Horror movies don't really "scare" anymore. It's all startling moments with ominous music in the background.

As someone with pretty profound claustrophobia, The Descent was a very tough watch for me; not for the boo scare moments, but for the parts where they were shuffling through narrow passes. That kind of thing always makes my adrenaline spike, accelerated heart rate, shallow breathing, etc

Wish we had mor eold shcool type horror movies instead of this modern day SAW or Paranormal Activity non sense.

I think it's funny when people find realistic first-person horror movies like PA and Blair Witch to be boring. All it requires is a little imagination to enjoy.

I have tons of imagination, it was just not scary or enjoyable at all to me.

People have there own opinions understand?

To me it was garbage, to my 10 year old cousin it was fantastic, everyone will have different opinions, but saying you have no imagination if you dont like PA or Blair Witch is ridicolous imo.

I have never been scared by a movie. maybe the ring, but the DVD menu and thoughts I had of it before watching it were scarier than the actual film itself.

For me, it's always been TV shows. The theme song to Are you afraid of the Dark... Scariest places on Earth, Scary but True, other haunted shows like that. I dont know why, I guess because they seem less like an entertainment feature film, and more like a scary thing that has been documented.

I've watched so many Horror Movies lately, but none are that scary just to watch. I had to wait till my room mates left for the summer and start watching them alone with all of the lights off between 11PM and 4AM. Scary movies are more about the situation you're in or you won't find any of them scary, but when I was alone in the dark I found The Last Exorcism, Uninvited, [REC] (the original spanish Quarantine), Ringu, and Pet Sematary really good

Paranormal Activity bugged me a bit. Just me thinking about every little creak or noise I heard around the apartment was kinda torturing.

Had to sleep on the couch with the TV on.

Also, when I was really little, I was terrified of Michael Myers. For a good2-3 days after seeing the original, I was so paranoid at night. I always thought i'd out of nowhere see him staring at me through one of the windows or see him in a dark doorway, I walked around sidewaysish to watch my back during those couple of nights. Funny looking back at it though...:P
horrified
I am dead serious. When I was younger that show scared the begeezers out of me, and it still creeps me out to this day.
If I had to choose a 'made-for-horror' movie, I guess it'd be The Ring but that wasn't all that bad.

Even though it isn't classed as horror, Signs is scary every time I see it, such a brilliant movie.

The scariest horror film I've seen though is -Insidious. Watching it at the cinema was really intense, amazing film!!
