Apparantly Jesus is the Incarnation of God, which means he is both human and God.

nothing can be proven regarding origin. We can step the path but we can't get to the end. Questions will always remain. The correct religion is one that takes evidences and turns them into truths in a goal of finding the correct truth.[QUOTE="THE_DRUGGIE"]

While I see what you mean, just because it cannot currently be proven which is true does not mean there is not a single true religion. For example, if Jesus returns tomorrow that would be a rather good indication that Christianity is true.[QUOTE="BumFluff122"]nothing can be proven regarding origin. If thise occurred which is the correct one? chances are none of them are. If Christianity is indeed correct the beliefs have been so contorted by peoples need and want for power more then likely very little is left.[QUOTE="coolbeans90"]

I say that the one with just God is the correct religion. No fancy rituals, just praying and acknowledging him. I'd rather be very spiritual with the religion of "only one God" rather than be really involved with a religion that is very deep and complex like Catholicism. RyuHayabusaXWhy necessarily a monotheistic religion?

If Christianity is indeed correct the beliefs have been so contorted by peoples need and want for power more then likely very little is left.Well that depends upon what you mean by version. For example, Protestants, Catholics, and Eastern Orthodox hold to the Nicene Creed. All orthodox Christians hold to that same truth. Sure I, being a Southern Baptist, will have some disagreements over lesser issues with a Presbyterian or Anglican, but the core is still the same. All of us will still hold to the same Gospel message. However, Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses are outside of this core, and many hold correct doctrine but do not behave like a "core" Christian (such as those in the Crusades or pastors involved in sex scandals).BumFluff122
There is a lot included within this core belief and it is this core from which I preach. Often times people fight over issues outside of this core and separate from one another creating different denominations. Sure there are differences but what matters is that Christians hold to both orthodoxy (right belief) and orthopraxy (right actions). This orthodoxy is much deeper than you seem to believe.

The point is is that there are many differing beliefs even within religions themselves. They can't all be 100% correct. The point is is that there are many differing beliefs even within religions themselves. They can't all be 100% correct.Indeed but one of them can. Indeed but one of them can. While I've been a Christian for a number of years, my theological views have not remained the same. The reason? I want to know what's true. And how do you go about knowing what's true if you base your faith on belief? Well since I believe the Bible to be true, I try to remain true to Scripture. Also, learning about past theologians, pastors, and philosophers has had some influence on me (both learning about their theology and how they live). I do not base my beliefs on guesswork but reason (that is, reason with certain assumptions like Jesus' literal resurrection). As an example, my views regarding predestination have dramatically changed over the years. At one time I would have said our salvation is purely by our own choice and God does not influence that. After realizing Scripture refers to Christians as the elect that have be predestined into righteousness, my view went into the opposite direction. Then once again my view changed again to take a middle ground. Thus, now I believe we alone are both held accountable for our actions and yet God still predestines us into righteousness (I do not believe determinism and free will contradict). I give this as an example, I'm not wanting to debate it. :P[QUOTE="mindstorm"]

Can I presume that means that man cannot save themselves no matter how much they try?The correct religion (or non-religion) is whichever helps you find peace and happiness, and whichever compels you to love everyone without reservation.
GabuEx
Your own, I find that faith is only something that you can discover for yourself. No religion has it correct since they are man made.MercifulKillerIt depends, there may be a right religion, only that it got bogged down by legalism.

I'm an atheist so if I began talking about such things I wouldn't even know where to begin. Everyone deciphers the bible differently. At one time someone on gamespot said that every believer follows their own religion because not one form of belief is exactly equal to another. Maybe it was you that saiid this? I can;t remember as it was so long ago. I do agree with that though. The core may be correct but if you add a lot of untruth to the core then it becomes weighed down with falsehoods.
not believing in religion is the only route to mental and intellectual enlightenmentnimatoad2000If by that you mean pure and utter apathy..but without actually ruling out the possibility of a religion being correct...I somewhat agree.
