Unfortunately I can't create polls yet for some reason but I'll ask this to the OT anyways...which period of school was the worst in your opinion? Was it elementary, was it middle, or was it high?

I definitely think that middle school was the worst. I mean, first of all every single kid had to have their "exclusive" group of friends and it was quite a challenge for me to make friends (at the end I had a few but not nearly as many as the majority of others had), andmost of theteachers got on final nerve.

If this thread survives for the right amount of time, once I reach the right level I'll edit this message to slip in a poll if possible. Let's start.

Yeah, you are all best friends at the end of middle school, then in high school you all meet new people who you mean nothing to, you change for them and forget about your real friends. I never let that happen to me and I can't thank myself enough for it.

Well it's definetely not elementary because I can't think of anything better than fingerpainting and napping.

But I believe the worst starts at middle school, because that's when cliques form and people end up shunned. You never hear about suicides in elementary.

Either Middle or High, I can't decide. In Middle school I didn't have many friends, but the ones I had were really close. And I got picked on a little bit too. But in High school, I have a few more friends, but I miss that really close feeling I had in Middle school.

I guess Middle school was worse for me, because after being a straight "A" student in Elementary I inexplicably starting sucking it up big time academically. Like "C"s and "D"s. At least now I've put myself back on track.

Overall, each has its ups and downs. I would say that the biggest change however is highschool, more drugs, more drinking, more sex, more smoking etc, etc.

I have heard that high school has a lot more sex and drugs involved, and speaking of high school, I'm just starting it in less than 2 weeks (freshman).

High school easily, peoples are getting dumber by the time it seems...

In elementary and middle school, everyone was a friend or a good buddy... in high school, everyone change for the worst.

Well, if you don't let the attention from peers get to you, you should be fine. Easier said then done. My school's football team was pure crap (no wins in league play) but almost everyone who wore the jersey was just a ****.

Dont kid yourself dude. If you want to become popular, you have to have confidence. I know plenty of people who are straight edge that are popular. Don't make up lame excuses just because you weren't popular.

The transition periods seem to be the worst. honestly i found the transition from highschool to college to be pretty bad. On one hand college is a hell of a lot better then highschool, but i found i lost the most friends in that transition. Highschool was easy, sure we all had a little homework and crummy part time jobs but most of our time was spent hanging out. college came around and now we were all busy, most of us work nearly full time and spend a lot of time studying, we have different classes and different breaks. Everything kinda works against you. There are only a few close friends i hung onto from highschool, most of my current friends are from college now.

The jock label isn't true for everything. The majority of the athletes during my high school years, were some pretty cool people that got along with just about everyone. I didn't see any of that bullying crap, media always seems to show. Though a handful of the baseball players were jerks.

This is coming from a boy who's father is in the military. High school was definitely the best. People are the least judgemental and you don't exactly to be Mr. Popular to be able to talk to popular people. I went to two different middle schools and am at my second high school, so i have experienced this "Your friends leave you" crap.

How is it exactly bad to make new friends and leave old ones? Open your damn eyes. I see so many close minded people in new schools, who already have their group of friends that they've hung out with for the past 10 years, who think they dont have to make new friends because they are fine with the ones they have.

Yeah I remember losing at least 5 friends in my transition from elementary to middle school. And of course the beginning of middle school was a very miserable time for me.

I hated middle school...everyone is always taking things too seriously. And fights were like an everyday thing...when i went to highschool, people started to grow up. There werent as many jerks as there were in Middle. I dont really like making friends anymore...I made a friend in highschool, then a year and a half later, he moved...and saddened me to no end...I just have bad experiences making friends...

Wow all you people sound like its not your fault your unpopular. I'm in middle school. When I first started it, none of my elementary friends went to my middleschool but I made an effort to make friends and during like the first week, I made like 10 new friends. By the end of sixth grade, I had made like 50 new friends. I'm goin to eighth grade in September and now I got like 70 or more friends.Sure there are cliques, but I hang around with everyone, except for the rocker kids who don't like me that much cuz they say I'm "gangsta". Anways, I really love middle school.

I didnt mind either. I liked HS more than middle school though. Only bad thing is if your friends get in "relationships" and you cant hang out as much anymore...lol. It was still a lot of fun though.

In about 3 weeks ill be a freshman in college and ill be leaving just about all of my friends. Thats kinda sad but i can still see them on breaks and stuff. I still cant wait though..it will be fun !! :D

well i am on the sports team (hopefully) its been my dream to play. But will I really be arrogant?

The jock label isn't true for everything. The majority of the athletes during my high school years, were some pretty cool people that got along with just about everyone. I didn't see any of that bullying crap, media always seems to show. Though a handful of the baseball players were jerks.

People in my grade are the same way. I'll be starting high school next week, but the athletes in my grade are cool people. I play football, and me and my friends get along with everyone. There are a fewj erks on our baseball team though.
