iTunes, but I think I'm gonna have to switch to foobar2000 soon because I'm getting to the point where iTunes is hogging way too much memory.

I'm always running Spotify or iTunes, usually Spotify because I can always find new music.

Foobar2000! It's the only player I found that will let me display the lyrics with my songs. It's also really lightweight and customizable!

Related to this, does anyone know a good player that can upload albums in FLAC / lossless format?

I use iTunes right now and I think it only does Apple Lossless for that sort of thing.

It varies between playing through Zune and Google Play through the browser.

Itunes. Its not your player that matters, its what you play on it. One day maybe ull learn that.

You can upload FLAC on Google Music but it converts it to 320kbps. Can't tell you if you would be able to tell the difference or not since most of my music is 320 already.

Yeah, music players all have the basic function of "allows you to play music". But beyond that each has some underlying pros/cons that make them different. Like I mentioned above, iTunes hogs a really large amount of memory especially once your library gets big.

I listen to most of it on Youtube. Occasionally I'll use Last FM or Jango.

"rip" maybe?
I thought upload was a right term for going from CDs onto the hard drive!
Unless your comment is saying that CDs are now unpopular :p

Hmm, thanks for the suggestion at least! The majority of my stuff is already in 320 kbps.

I'm planning on getting all my albums uploaded on an external hard drive (and eventually a solid state drive!), just so I have a nice backup of them, and can convert it down to something like 320 kbps for a portable player with maybe not too much space on it.

I might be able to hear the difference now, but it's mostly just for backing it up and having it look nice for now.

Well,I mainly use Zune. I really can't stand using Itunes its too ugly, messy and not organized like Zune software is. I recently purchased a ZuneHD and I love it and I use it everyday for music, even though it lacks alot of apps the ZuneHD is mostly a hardcore music player and it has a NVIDIA Tegra (I think) for its processor. I have thought of purchasing a 4th Gen Itouch for mainly apps but I think it would be weird carying both a Zune and Itouch. Anyone else apprecitate a Zune?

If you upload the music to Google you can play it from any web browser after you log on and if I'm not mistaken you can download it from the web to your computer. You can play it on an Android phone too but if you don't have an unlimited data plan or use wifi you're probably going to hit your data limit.

That's one way to save your music without using space on your hard drive, I uploaded over 40GB of music on there (took me almost two days, it uploads slow as hell for some reason no matter how fast your IP's upload speed is) and they allow you to put 20,000 songs on there (my collection was about 11,000 or so).

I know Amazon has their MP3 loader but the last time I used it I had to convert most of my music from WMA to MP3 before I could upload it but it gives unlimited space for music. Don't know about other formats, my collection was half MP3 and half WMA when I last used Amazon.

I loved my Zune but I haven't been using it nearly as much since I can access my whole collection on my phone remotely now. Saves me the trouble of carrying both.

Pandora, primarily. When I used to have a Zune, I used the Zune player, but the software was far too heavy. I tried Spotify and didn't much care for it.

Nice, I'm assuming you have a Windows Phone? I'd think it'd be weird to have Zune running on a Windows Phone but its a Microsoft Windows product so I guess it wouldn't. Like I said before I am kind of dissapointed with the lack of apps :( but I am extremely happy with my HD.

I think my collection is only around 1000 - 1500 songs, all from albums except for a tiny handful (I might feel your pain on the waiting a while to get the music in place. The disc drive on my laptop was pretty slow when I was getting them on it!)
I kind of prefer putting them on the HDD / SDD for some reason or another. It doesn't really matter too much because the internet is pretty much always available, but I just prefer the more physical-type things.

I think I'd like to see all the files sorted and stuff too, with folders for big versions of all the album art too.

That's a good service that Google has though. Being able to get them off the internet is a nice thing to have.

Nope, I have a Droid 4 and I use Google Music. I used to use Amazon MP3 but the problem with them was if you uploaded an album with multiple artists it would split the album up into several artists by artist. That would really suck for albums that had multiple guest stars on it. Google keeps the album together so I've been using them for the past few months.

Is there a way to transfer songs from my ipod touch to foobar or do I have to get a program and get the songs form my ipod to my computer then add songs to foobar? Also this is kinda of a dumb question but does transfering songs from ipod touch to my computer degrade the song quality? And which program is the best to use to transfer songs?

Wait never mind I played a song on foobar and I saw the file path thingy and it gave me the location of the song files. Didn't they used to not allow you to have the songs on your computer and you ha to get a program to extract the songs to computer?

iTunes, I hate it, but since I have an iPod Touch I pretty much have to have it. Plus it's the only way I can buy songs online without a CC. I use Zune on my laptop though.

I usually just use iTunes and catalog my listenings onto Last.fm.
