If a girl is genuine and is generally nice and caring I'll become attached to her. I think my GF is beautiful, but she is just so sweet and down to earth. She also really seems to appreciate my company, and I feel the same about her.

You are correct... to a point. No man has ever seen a strange woman on the street and said "look at the head on her shoulders. I've gots to get me some of that intellect." You need a force that makes you want to get to know her better to see if she has qualities that really matter, physical attraction is that force.

However, if someone has a defective personality, their looks can compensate for only so much. Once the two of you get older and looks fade, you're stuck with what's left. That's why for sex I say looks, and for a relationship I say behavior or personality. Because long term I care about how she treats people, can she carry a conversation, if she someone I look forward to coming home to day after day etc...

Attracts me to her. That would be a pretty face and a nice body. What would keep me with her if we started dating would be her brains and behavior. I don't care how hot the girl is, if she is stupid or a bit....well you know what I mean, then I have 0 interest in her. I will not date a smoker or a girl who likes to drink a lot or do heavy drugs. She can like to drink from time to time, but not have a habit. She also can't be high maintenance either. Got more important things to spend my money on than freaking make up, hair spray, face creams, ect. ect.

Of course it's going to take a certain level of base attraction before you consider someone for a mate. I would have thought that'd be so self-evident it wasn't worthy of mentioning. But backing up what I said in my earlier post, a smart, kind woman is worth more than any shallow beauty. Looks fade in time, you know.
