True, a lot of sites that died in the past never managed to ingrain themselves in parts of life outside the internet. Myspace pretty much dropped off the radar before everyone had smartphones for example. I just think twitter since it's more of a novelty than the others, all it needs is for something more exciting to come along.

Well, Twitter was the 9th most visited website this past month, while Google, Facebook and Youtube were the top 3. Source

I'm surprised yahoo is at 4, I didn't think many people continued to use it. Then again it does offer more than search and yahoo mail is still used

YouTube has been around for 6 years. The internet could easily be around for the next few hundred years.

Google.

Facebook and Twitter could theoretically die out if they start losing millions of users (though that's not likely), and YouTube's popularity could be in trouble with this whole copyright streaming thing. Google, on the other hand, faces no possible threat whatsoever. It has a complete monopoly over search engines and the internet in general. So yeah, Google.

Google. Facebook and Twitter will die out once the next big thing comes out. Youtube is apart of Google, so that would probably survive too.

Youtube could become a unmoderated uncensored forum if that happened.

Vevo? I've never heard of it, but I'm sure it'll take away some users. You can't have a userbase as massive as youtube without losing a few somewhere along the line. I think google will probably last the longest.

My reaction exactly. But yes...what would the job description be? Squashing trolls online with a virtual reality hammer in order to make the community a safer place? :P

Sooner or later there'll be some breakthrough in technology and all of those will die. The only site I can think of which can't become outdated is that one.
