Well, sorry for living under a rock. I truly never heard of her until today! I did just listen to one of her songs and she really does have a fantastic voice. Either way, respect to her and my sympathy goes to her family and friends. It is truly a loss for one to be taken at such an age.

When you're as HUGE as she was, you're not before most people's time. Her music is still played all the time, she referenced all the time and she's one of the biggest names in music history. It's like not knowing the Beatles or Elvis or Michael Jackson.

I think I'd be exaggerating if I said this is almost like Michael Jackson dying, but I have no other example so this is like calling MJ dying petty gossip.
no, cowboy, I'm a still unrespectable 18 but I'm not gonna even argue against the condescending "lol look at these clueless children" jackassery going on in here just because a couple people didn't recognize a woman who, no offense to her life, music, fans, etc., hasn't been relevant for years outside of gossip mags

I would say that is a great use of increased media actually. On a side note, I doubt many are using the exposure as a means to knew artists, it is just hopping from one single to another. I'd imagine most youth have not listened to an album through and through.
