So being cool and fun makes for a good president. o.0 Would Bush not have been confident enough to go to war? Seems actually knowing what you are doing isn't required for office anymore.[QUOTE="_IronManDude_"]Something about the fact that you used his unfortunate full name tells me you voted no.A1B2C3CALWhy would that have anything to do with the way I voted? It's nothing personal. It's just that most people who use his full name are... implying something.

Way to buy into the hype. Next thing I know, you're going to say that he's going to save America through his "fist bumping." And his policies have already proven him to support Afghanistan, and thus not be "against war." He's just against particular wars that are more expensive. He's confident, cool ,fun , against war and he's smart .... everything that bush is not :D

I think being a good president is VERY cool. Don't you? Anyway, it surprises me how so many Christian people are very right-wing conservatives. Don't you realise that Jesus went totally against those ideals? That you should give as much as you can to the poor? That you look after people around you? That you should love (not bomb) your enemy?[QUOTE="mindstorm"][QUOTE="gamerknot"]So being cool and fun makes for a good president? o.0He's confident, cool ,fun , against war and he's smart .... everything that bush is not :D

Yes, being a good president is indeed cool but being cool does not make one a good president. I'm right-wing because of morality issues, we should take a stand and fight for the rights of other people given the opportunity, and the needy should indeed be helped but shouldn't always be given free handouts. You work for what you eat is not only my motto but is a biblical concept. The only time I support socialism is when it is voluntary socialism for all parties such as in the early church.[QUOTE="Stumpt25"][QUOTE="mindstorm"] So being cool and fun makes for a good president? o.0I think being a good president is VERY cool. Somehow both liberals and conservatives think poor people should be helped, but both don't actually do it. But then again, that's what america is based on. someone said ask EU? EU is mainly positive for Obama (seeing as his vision of the world often "clicks" better with ours).
He has not given us over here, much room for doubt so far, but he does walk on a knifes edge, in the eyes of the world...
In a year or so I think it will be alot more clear, since he seems alittle confused right now (this may be because he has to please two very opposite sides in the US).
Is he going to save the states? NO people in the states needs to do things themselves to help push US up again, sitting in your couch aint gonna help.
I do however get skeptical of people loyalty towards him tho, since (as mentioned before) there seems to be some right wings who insist on throwing Hussain in there with the rest of his name, a purely damaging thing to do considering the last 8 years.
outwards tho he IS mending some of the cracks in the states face, It is very hard to describe how unpopular Bush really was in the EU (I take it that the middle east wassnt too thrilled either), so basicly he does give us a reason to trust him, follow him? mmh not sure, trust him? yeah, benefit of a boubt.

I'm sure there's tons of great people out there like you, but if you look at the overall outcome of things in america, it has an impressive poverty. For a first world country that is.
I firmly believe Obama will be a far better Prez than GWB. :)
And don't use Hussein when talking about Obama. There is just no reason to.

Why not? It is his name, after all. It's not as if calling the guy "Barack Hussein Obama" somehow implies that he's related to Saddam Hussein.

Because he goes by Barack Obama, not Barack "HUSSEIN" Obama. That's why.
It's clear that people using his middle name are playing on fears. Otherwise, these same people would've called McCain and Palin by their middle names too.
Don't play coy.

*facepalm* I guess it couldn't be Iraq he's against, could it?
[QUOTE="LosDaddie"][QUOTE="A1B2C3CAL"]It is the mans middle name so...A1B2C3CAL
So....why weren't McCain's and Palin's middle names used at all during the campaigns?
Oh yes, you've uncovered a giant conspiracy rofl!It wasn't a conspiracy. The intention is clear.
Using Obama's middle name was just another shallow fearmongering tactic from the Right that patriotic Americans thankfully saw right through. :)
Whats the big deal about his middle name being Hussein? He couldn't choose it, yea sure he could change it but why? right?A1B2C3CALWould you be starting the topic with the full name if it was "Steve"? 99 times out of 100 over the last two years, referring to Barack Obama by his full name is a thinly veiled attempt to imply that he's a Manchurian Candidate type of guy. He's a dangerous foreigner because his middle name is HUSSEIN. The number of people who get the full three name treatment is minuscule, because typically first name and surname are enough to identify who you're talking about. They're particularly enough with the new Leader of the Free World. Out of the 435 Congressmen, 100 Senators, 50 governors and who knows how many other people working in government, how many get the full three name treatment?
why so were not allowed to say his name wtf??I firmly believe Obama will be a far better Prez than GWB. :)
