I've always been a fan of Busta Rhymes even though I don't much care for rap anymore. He was pretty awesome back in the day. I actually have a couple of his CDs.

Really, stating whos the "best rapper" is100% subjective. Many of the guys you mentioned are good, but in overall termsyou cant saythis guy or that guy is"the best of all times". For example Rakim and Guruboth havevery intelligent lyrics, i like listen to them. But if we are talking about single aspects in rapping, someone like a "best rapper" doesnt exist. If someone says, Souljaboy is the "best rapper" (really cant understand THAT lol ), i show you dozens of rappers with much better flow, if someones says 50 cent is the "best rapper", i show you dozens of rappers with muuuch more intelligent lyrics and so on. You should ask instead: Whos your favourite rapper? That would make sense.

MC Hammer!!

are we including hip hop?

If so my vote goes to Aesop Rock. Man his lyrics are awesome.

For gangster rap (oops, i mean gangsta) I gotta say Andre Nickatina or Mac Dre

Completely and utterly moronic lyrics for starters. Sure, when you're drunk out of your mind at a party you don't care...but that's the only thing his songs are good for.

DYLAN HE SPITS HOT FIYA!!!. If only there was a best. It is your favorite..it is just an opinion. But a garbage one in my opinion(the op's, seeing as Lil Wayne has terrible lyrics and Pac is just hyped up so much because he is dead, he was good, but not the best). Really it should be who is/are your favorite rapper(s). I think that would be better :P. For me, it would be Lupe and Nas, they keep great lyrics and don't have to talk/rap extremely slow like Immortal Technique who only talks conspiracy and wars and such. No variety :?. Honorable mentions for me...Jay Electronica, Common, Rakim and KRS One.

Quasimoto. Madlib needs to make a new one.Wilfred_Owen

Madlib's Quasimoto voice is probably the most annoying voice in hip-hop, makes Lil Wayne sound like Marvin Gaye. I dunno why people are even naming producer first/rapper distant second people like J Dilla and Madlib in the first place. Madlib and Dilla are amazing producers, mediocre rappers at best. At least pick a producer/rapper like Large Pro or Lord Finesse...

Mainstream hip hop is dead. It probably will always be unless they make a new genre for this hip pop. But tell me rap is dead listening to this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Z4K_WWeBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_56YPH50bGI&feature=channel_page (bad video :P) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVdP1aTdZRQ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGr7XTB5Ddc I might link later :D

Perhaps I should have explained that I prefered his production over his ability to MC or whatever the hell you call it. Though I certainly won't disagree, his voice can be annoying.

Then you obviously should expand your library...especially if you didn't know them. Also, if he doesn't talk about money, cars and HE DEFINITELY talks about girls at least..I think you mean degrading women...
