who else misses being a kid and not having to deal with love and heartbreak and all this goddam stuff that you never had to worry about before? those times where you could actually be happy with just your friends and not have to try so hard to be with someone you got feelings for but never have a chance in hell with?

I did not have such problems in high school, I avoided others like they were plagued.

I don't mind the love and heartbreak. Getting old is what I hate most.

I'm not sure I understood your story, but yeah, I wish I was a little kid daily. Looking back at the naivety of childhood, you realize that ignorance is bliss. The little you know, the happier you are.

This. I have few friends from high school, and I try not to get too involved in their lives/drama.

 You're in HS, you still are a kid with nothing to worry about.

True, but you can't deny that the transitional period from childhood to adulthood (your high school years pretty much) can be a major drag, even if you try to prevent it from being so.

yeah the childhood memories are enough to make you want to go back and do it all again. and it's just so wired how things seemed so different back the but really were the same as they are now besides your age and the things that were there and aint no more. i remember when i was little on my grandparent's farm there was an old sleigh next to a grain shed and an old, blue boat with nothing in it but the seats and a steering wheel in a shed, and the memories from those being there before just makes me wanna cry. don't know why though

i miss when nothing ever counted and all i had to worry about was whether next week's episode of digimon would be a repeat or not. the best way to avoid the love and heartbreak crap of highschool is to just not participate in it.

Dude, you still have a chance to hang with friends and take things easy. You are still in High School. Don't waste it wishing you were younger. There is plenty time for that when you are eighty.

Well, I don't have to "deal" with love and heartbreak right now. So I don't see where you are getting at. (actually, I do, I just felt like telling you that high school dating is a terrible terrible choice. Why anyone would want to date 15-17 year old girls is beyond me).

And currently being a HS student, these days are the best days of my life, no contest. High grades, good friends, enough sleep, enough time to pursuit my hobby. Life is great.

that's hard to do. you can't just control it. love is strong and ignoring or holding back those feelings just makes it hurt more. it's all gonna hit ya sooner or later no matter what ya do. and it's wierd how you can just never get used to it once it does

High School really is an awesome time. You are old enough to do almost anything you want and get around on your own but at the same time have no real worries or obligations. To answer you TC, yeah, I wish I could go back to HS!

ya, that's probably because you interact with more people than me. kinda sad on my part, but i cant say im any less happy than your average teenage person. i basically have no friends that are girls... and its not because i am afraid of them or vice versa. i work fine with them in groups. i just have a routine and its served me well and the only drama i ever had is getting that A instead of a B.

Ugh highschool was the worst. You are in a transition period, and its just a bunch of useless work with a bunch of useless kids who don't care about their educations and hindered my ability learn. A horrible experince. Now college, when you are on your own is a great experince because you start to learn personal responsibility, that was/is a lot of fun even if it is a lot of work :(

In the most sincere way possible, I'd like to ask: what kinds of hardships are there in the 'real world'? I hear a lot of adults tell me that high school is easy and simple compared to what I will face once I'm an adult, but they never explain it, and I don't really know of anything that would be challenging as an adult (besides getting a job and paying bills, which are pretty obvious ones).

You'll find out when you get older but....getting your life actually started, getting a job, paying bills, being on your own, etc. etc. All made harder today by the current economic condition. HS was a blast. The real world is full of responsibility, bills, people you love dying, more bills and death.

Yes and no. Back when I was a child, staying in was a nightmare so I would always go outside everyday for hours because I had a to reason to leave my place. My current life is better but I do like the feeling being a child and not having to worry about responsibilities, but hell no I don't want to go back.

High school was easy. The homework was easy and the socialization was easy. I probably thought that it was hard at the time, but now I find myself wishing I were back sometimes. It only gets harder.
