breaking Dawn. Sorry.jjr10:x I love reading books. I'm not reading anything at the moment, though I'm going on holidays tomorrow, so I think I'll take Homer's The Odyssey with me to read on the flight and in the evenings.

i read for pleasure, but i cant always get around to it depending on my work schedule at college. currently im reading "the world is flat" by friedman for class. its pretty interesting (even if friedman occasionally dramatizes an actual phenomenon, though the name of the book suggests so much).
the last book i read on my own was amerika by kafka. im hoping to read some camus once i get the chance.

I found that bit interesting enough, but I'm going by peoples word that this is the slowest book (by far) in the Dark Tower series.
I am currently reading Oblivion(a collection of stories) and Consider the Lobster(a collection of essays and what not) by David Foster Wallace. Have 2 , well actually 3-4 other books after that I will read.
Just finished Dune a couple of days ago, was going to read Dune Messiah but started Speaker for the Dead again instead (kept putting off re-reading it for some reason).AnObscureNameYou need to continue the Dune books. They are all good, imo. Those written by Frank Herbert, anyway.

You finished a game of thrones in 1 day? >_>I read constantly. Right now I'm reading Angels & Demons by Dan Brown; two days ago I finished George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones; the day before that I read Fight Club; three days before that I read Saint by Ted Dekker.
I love books.

[QUOTE="Theokhoth"]You finished a game of thrones in 1 day? >_> I wondered that as well. It took about 2 and half days of reading it near enough constantly during the day before I finished it (I found it that good). Should go back and re-read. Eddard is awesome.I read constantly. No, that's the day I finished it, silly. It took me weeks.

If "A Feast of Crows" is the third in the USA, then I haven't even attempted to read it and won't until the new one is close to release. (In the UK, a Storm of Swords is two different books). The only character that is as awesome as Eddard though is Jon Snow.

I agree (though I think Tyrion's my favorite character), and no, Feast for Crows is the fourth book in the US. I'm glad we get Storm of Swords in one book here, but the UK covers of the books kick so much more ass than the covers for the US books.

I was gonna say. Even putting in a 12 16 hour day of reading, I don't think it would be easy to finish that book.If "A Feast of Crows" is the third in the USA, then I haven't even attempted to read it and won't until the new one is close to release. I actually completely forgot about Tyrion and that A Clash of Kings existed there. He is also on the list of awesome characters (descriptions of his genetalia not with standing). It's weird that they talk about the sequel as a way of advertising A Game of Thrones though.I actually just finished rereading AFfC about three days ago. :D I am starting to get concerned that George R.R. Martin will never finish the series. :x
And I am currently reading Common Sense by Thomas Paine; it's amazing how much of what he says pertains to today.
breaking Dawn. Sorry.jjr10If youre going to apologize for reading a book, why read it in the first place? Its a great book, and most of the people who bash it on this site havent even read it so their opinions arent valid. Anyways, Im currently reading "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. Overall, its rather good but it occasionally slows down and gets boring. I have about 40 Pages to go.
Where's my Jetpack? A Guide TO the Amazing science fiction future that never arrived.

I finished "A Game of Thrones" the other week now I'm just hoping for some money to buy the next one. Awesome read, I actually found myself picking it over playing my DS in bed. Right now I'm 3 pages off finishing "Empress" by Karen Miller, another fantastic book, but I've had little spare time to read it. When I'm done with that, I'm actually going to bother with Ann Rice's books. They've sat on my shelf for months since I rescued them from the bin, and I haven't picked them up once.

I agree don't be sorry honestly breaking dawn is the best out of the saga, and it's true most people that hate them haven't picked them up to give thema chance and it's sad it's like saying a game sucks before even trying it out (which I have found people here do alot...strange).
I just finished rereading the twilight saga to prepare myself for the next movie coming out to make sure it can stand up next to the book, but I haven't found anything new to read lately but that has to do with me buying my books before I read them and I'm broke right now.:(
Btw, I like Arya and Jon Snow JandurinLove that series, more and hurry Mr Martin! Just finished Persian Fire by Tom Holland about the conflict between the Greek city states and the Persians and the build up to Xerxes' invasion
