Who here knows what "sephiroth" ACTUALLY means?

I ask this, because someone called my Jewish friend a liar, when he told him what the term Sephiroth REALLY means.

Because it darn sure isn't just the name of a videogame character.

The original meaning of the name Sephiroth comes from Judaism, and is the ten attributes that God created through which he can manifest in the physical and metaphysical universe.

It is not, originally, the name of an overated long-haired bishi with a sword that is clearly compensating for something.

Anyone else have anything similar to this? Words that seem to have lost their original meanings to pop-culture?

The swastika is a native indian symbol for peace. The aryan racewere originallythe persians and an older word for gentiles (non jews) in the middle east. The pagan symbol bathomet (the deer headed man with breasts and wings) is not a satanic or evil symbol at all. The iron cross originated with the templar knights and was then used with a swastika as a symbol and medal for courage in nazi germany, not some cheap logo for orange county choppers (no one knows that one...dumb kids). Antisocial does NOT mean you can't and won't talk to people because of shyness, laziness, or whatever. no...most people refer to some nerd who lacks communication skills as antisocial, which is the complete opposite of it's meaning.
