[QUOTE="freek666"][QUOTE="Vilot_Hero"][QUOTE="Epak_"][QUOTE="Vilot_Hero"][QUOTE="GabuEx"] [QUOTE="Vilot_Hero"]What does that prove? Metallica created metal/thrash metal, and Slayer continued on by playing death metal.Vilot_Hero
Metallica years active: 1981 - present.
Slayer years active: 1981 - present.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to raise an eyebrow at the assertion that Slayer "continued on" with regards to Metallica.
That is sorta questionable, but Slayer is death metal, while Metallica is metal/thrash metal.Thisis death metal and Slayer is quite far from it. They're thrash like everyone here tries to tell you.
Raining Blood isn't thrash dude:| Master Of Puppets is, and that's alot different from Slayers music. And with that you lost any and all possible respect from me and also credibility. Both are Thrash Metal bands and are part of the Big 4 along with Megadeth and Anthrax. It can be said that Slayer did have an influence on the Death Metal scene, but if you want early pioneers of Death Metal, look to bands like Obituary, Autopsy and Death.
Also, that poll is a joke. You dont mention Dave Lombardo or Hellhammer, two of the most well known and influential metal drummers. I vote Neil.
Iv been loosing alot of people's credibility lately. Slayer is defiantly death metal. Did you hear the difference of the songs I posted? You sir, I believe, are musically handicapped. I mean, I can understand non metal listeners saying Slayer is Death Metal, but a person who listens to metal saying that they arent Thrash but Death, just, its beyond words. As for Metallica creating Thrash Metal, you are wrong. No one can really say who started it because all the bands came around at the same time, except for Megadeth seeing as that was after Metallica. Before Metallica there was Leather Charm, so we could go as far as to say that they created Thrash (although they might've been Glam, but its unlikely). Metallica did bring Thrash to the forefront of the metal scene, but soon changed their sound to just regular heavy metal/hard rock. Slayer continued on but soon changed as well, as did Anthrax and Megadeth.
Like GabuEx said, you might just be trying to get a reaction and you have succeeded. I dont think I need to continue any longer.
