They shouldn't be. I'm sure the bands that back these solo artists would disagree. Someone has to play the music, and to me that makes them equally guilty.
I agree with that, it's not that there so bad but they are way too popular for making such mediocracy. True, but I like a few of their songs.:P I like the song Rockstar.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers. They are quite boring. They made like one good song a long long time ago back in the 90's and it was indeed pure class (scar tissue) but it's like they just churn out compromised crap ever since. I've seen them live at the main event of one of the V-Festivals (I should be there now at this time of writing but my girlfriend couldn't make it so I spent the weekend with her). They tried to rile the crowd as it seemed people were getting bored but failed every time. I think most people walked off to do drugs or shag in their tents. Very wise of them.
The thing is with Chilli Peppers mind, Scar Tissue was such a great song that it almost forgives the crap. To be fair they did do a few other okay songs but still, overrated when you see how the critics hype them up.

I agree with this too. I don't get them, I really don't, and I'm quite a tolerant person. I mean today someone rammed into the back of my heel with a shopping trolly in the supermarket, I didn't even look back.

Dream Theater? I didn't even think they were very popular. They are definitely not overrated.... lolwut. They are very popular. And being overrated doesn't necessarily have to deal with popularity. The merits of Dream Theater are way overestimated, thus they are overrated...at least in my book.

:lol: Serious? Well anyways, they are a very influential band so I respect them for that but the music isn't very impressive. I had several attempts of breaking into Hammerheart yet to no avail. Quorthon was a horrible vocalist but at least sounded decent when he used his harsh vocals. Blood Fire Death is about the only Bathory album I'll listen to.
any of the numerous bands that make their name from the size of their label rather than differentiating themselves from the poppy masses in any meaningful way.
