Linkin Park and Disturbed are pretty much rated as **** anyways, so they're not really over-rated. They are rated badly and they are bad. I'd say they are fairly-rated.

i'm actually going to have to disagree with about disturbed, and to the point where i'd call them underrated. their albums get terrible critic reviews, are consistantly bashed on message boards, and many look at them as a crappy korn rip-off that no one will care about in 10 years. i was one of them until i saw them live. i hated them before seeing them, and left wanting to buy all of their albums. they are beyond incredible live, and i consider live shows very highly with rock/metal bands. they weren't even the headliner or co-headliner, and people were screaming for an encore. i'm serious when i saw they put on one of the best concerts i've ever seen, and they completely stole the show from the other bands that i had been looking forward to seeing (disturbed was one of the ones i was dreading).

EVERYTHING can sell. All it needs is good marketing. The betty crocker bakenfill sells, but I would hardly call it over-rated...
I know, it's overrated because it sucks, but a lot of stupid kids are still buying their records and claiming they're an amzing group. And what does cake have to do with this :P ?

Personally I think the term 'over-rated' refers to how something was rated by critics, the press etc. So for you to consider someone is over-rated you have to think the press rated them higher than they deserved.
Although in fairness I did read a few positive reviews for Panic! At The Disco's album when it came out, so you can probably get away with calling them over-rated, if you think they're gash.

I loved the second album, but I do agree Funeral was better. Overrated? A tad. The most overrated? Hardly.
Haha. I kind of agree. I just said Arcade Fire for effect as I know some people absolutely adore them. I really liked Funeral aswell. The critics did cream over them a bit too much for my liking though. I don't think they're as good as they have been built up to be. So I do consider them over-rated.
