them winning one game last year is not going to help the fan base

Pffft, then they aren't real fans!

Real fans stick with their teams, losing or not! Besides, they can only get better next season (I hope).

Next year they'll do better than my Lions. Parcells will field a decent team next year, hopefully with Henne running the show.

9ers for life. been that way since before i could remember. now that we have mike martz, winning another super bowl isnt so far off and then we will be the first to 6 and still be the only team to win multiple super bowls with no defeatsH8sMikeMoore

The Cowboys are far more likely to get their 6th before the 49ers do. San Fran is still trying to build.

Doesn't matter, at this point the Cowboys are more likely than the 49ers to be the first team with 6 Super Bowl Rings. Then the Steelers. If the 49ers can start putting together winning seasons, maybe it would be different, but you have to be a playoff contender first.

im gonna have to agree here. although I think Green Bay is still in the top spot.

the lions will never be a good team, im not even sure why the team exists anymore. but then again why do the cardinals exist?

First I must say I love your sig.8) Anyway, I am too excited about Martz, but my fear is that it's going to take too long for the offense to become accustomed to his style. Either way, I don't see how it can possibly be worse than last year.

i think were in for a surprise this year, hostler was the reason we did so bad last year we were supposed to do really good. unfortunately hostler dosent know anything about football.

alex is actually a real good qb, especially with martz on our side and we got vernon davis, frank gore, deshaun foster, isaac bruce, delanie walker and ashlie lelie on top of that. we have A LOT. we just never had a real game plan. i think were at least win the NFC West, or compete for it. then the next year i think were in super bowl territory. maybe im just optimistic but i heart mike martz

Well it's no doubt at this point that Hostler is a joke. I just read the other day that the guy never even implemented hot reads for crying out loud! That's probably why our offensive line looked so awful last year. I'm just so glad we have a real offensive coordinator, possibly the best we've had since Mike Shanahan.

It's true we've got talent, but I think the offense will need time to gel, and that's something we can't afford if you look at the schedule. I hope Alex does well, I really do, but he needs some consistency. Even if he makes strides this year, what's to stop Martz from leaving like McCarthy and Turner? According to his coach at Utah, Alex will be completely dysfunctional until he perfectly learns an offense. How is he ever going to get to that point if he is always restarting? I think Nolan really blew it when it came to grooming Smith, and I pray that Martz is able to salvage him quickly. With that said, I'm hoping the niners are able to get 9-10 wins this season, but I'm expecting 6-7 wins. Last year really scarred me, so I'm trying to control my optimism. As for the SB, I don't know, but hopefully that sixth ring comes sooner rather than later...

I think Nolan really blew it when it came to grooming Smith, and I pray that Martz is able to salvage him quickly. With that said, I'm hoping the niners are able to get 9-10 wins this season, but I'm expecting 6-7 wins. As for the SB, I don't know, but hopefully that sixth ring comes sooner than later...

I agree with you entirely, especially about Nolan doing Alex injustice. Im just hoping (optimistically) that Martz's genius pulls through. I think were gonna do pretty good this year, but I think its just a matter of a time before were one of the best teams again (potentially the best in the nfl again) but it really comes down to the owner and nolan and how things turn out. I hear nolan is a bit of a dictator, and york is dumb. If nolan goes in the next two years I hope york makes Martz the HC and dosent boot both of them. But I can totally see it happening.

Yeah it really does come down to ownership and coaching. I don't know why Eddie D. just can't reclaim the team again. I mean his suspension is over isn't it, and do the Yorks even like the 49ers? What really scares me is that if the salary cap does disappear in two years, all the best players are going to go to the Cowboys and Redskins. I just don't see York competing with guys like Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder. If Martz does become HC though, we can pretty much say goodbye to the defense, but I'd take about anyone over Nolan at this point. If we do horribly this season, I guess we can try to get Holmgren to be our HC. :D

I know Eddie offered support, but it really comes down to the yorks wanting to sell it to him again. I know when they were offering to possibly sell the team, steve young wanted it. now THAT would be awesome!

Yeah I wouldnt want our defense to fall apart, I think we have a pretty good defense actually. Especially with Willis tearing it up. the thought of our guys going to the cowboys and the skins makes me sick. or they might goto the rams or the raiders... i just need to not think about that right now haha

i just hope nolan and martz can get along. both of them have big heads, if they can learn to work together then we have a solid offense and a solid defense.

To be honest I don't have particular team that's my favorite but I do like the Chargers for Ladanian Tomlinson and the Colts for Manning.

I also like the Saints and kind of like the Steelers.
