He has a really fantastic performance in Moon...it is extremely believable. I'd be surprise if he doesn't get best performance this year... We also don't often get well-directed, thought-provoking, top-notch, sci-fi indie films often. :)[QUOTE="KcurtorMas"][QUOTE="_en1gma_"] Awesome! :D_en1gma_

Rikardur
He reminds me of Darren Aronofsky....I am pretty sure he will. :D
I've been excited since I saw the first trailer, and the reviews so far have been great. So hell yes I'm gonna go see it.
[QUOTE="MrLions"][QUOTE="Null--Fox"]Yea, I seriously feel the same way but idk what movie. This movie is pretty unique :? I don't think there is any movie with a plot even remotely similar... But then why dose it feel not u nique? :(I don't know why but it seems like I've "seen" that movie before :?

I really liked him in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

You should definitely see Moon. Sam Rockwell gives the best performance of his career.[QUOTE="KcurtorMas"][QUOTE="_en1gma_"] Awesome! :Dsammyjenkis898

Same here. Looks like an interesting movie, and looks like it could be pretty badass.
But who knows? I really don't know anything about this movie aside from what I've seen in the previews, and it could very well suck.

Alien Nation had a plot about alien refugees being stranded on earth and sort of treated as outsiders. But if I recall, the bigotry was sort of toned down in that movie. After all, one of the aliens was a detective, and the aliens got to live in the suburbs with rich people.

That's a bold statement. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

even so, its still not another generic sci fi film, which of we all ready have tons of.
I can already tell that this movie is going to be drawing parallels to the south African apartheid. Its going to be one of those subtle protests saying, "look this is what happens when we segregate, bad things happen, watch our movie!!, desegregation is always the answer, see our movie, it prooves it!!!11!!11!" Yea not falling for it.sacredtext62

It's more accurate to say that that's what I WANT.
Nearly all of the best science fiction is allegorical to something actually relevant to the human condition. Otherwise, you're just watching a bunch of aliens and robots.
Gattaca dealt with bigotry, 12 Monkeys dealt with mankind's beauty in the midst of inevitable futility, 2001 dealt with mankind's path towards becoming gods. After watching the xenophobic killfest which is Aliens (and don't get me wrong, it is a great movie), sometimes I want to follow that up with a movie whose message is a little less hostile, paranoid, and downright disturbing.
Hopefully District 9 can cement its place in the catalogue of RELEVANT science fiction, rather than just being another dumbass movie about aliens killing humans, or vice-versa/etc.
