I'll say Hitler because he literally tried to exterminate a race of people, while Stalin was kind of into the whole inspiring fear to maintain power business, which I don't find quite as evil. Both guys are some of the worst examples of humanity, though, no matter how you look at it.

yeah Adolf was too arrogant to admit defeat he blamed it on his generals when the fault was his for not giving them enough power since they were professionals however he thought he could do it better

Stalin let Zhukov do most of the work thus creating succes

Adolf suffered from arrogance and self obsession Stalin Suffered from extreame anxiety both led them to kill millions

To be honest, actually think Stalin was worse to have as the head of state. Granted Hitler rounded up jews and commited genocide those that weren't jewish however had as ordinary lives as they could have during a war, Stalin on the other hand would lay down severe punishment upon anyone in Soviet regardless of who they were and what their believed in. Hitler was more disturbed, But I think Stalin was the worst to live under overall.

I don't know as much about Stalin as I do Hitler because much more is taught about Hitler in the classroom (at least the ones I was always in) and programs I have watched on The History Channel and Discovery. I'm sure Stalin wasn't no saint judging by a few of the posts in the thread.

I'm not defending that sick **** Hitler in any way, but fun fact! A lot of Hitler's mannorisims and decisions were made when he was on heavy drugs, of what variety I do not know. I myself have experienced great confidence, rationalism, and optimism under the influence of pain killers (been in two automobile accidents), which is pretty much what he was on, just intervienously. I'm not sure if it's just me, or if others have experienced the same kind of feelings. That was a lot of Hitler's downfall. Sending German troops into Russia under prepared during, or before the Russian winter is absolutely insane(I'm terrible with dates), I'm sure under the influence though one could rationalize such a tacit to work.

germany was a messed up by the treaty, people needed a scapegoat when things are going bad. Hitler wanted to take over the world... many die in this campaign and it is unnecessary most of the time. look at the civillain death toll of Alexander the great, Napoleon etc. The jews were a convenient minority, along with slavs etc.

Certain words are censored in titles but not in posts, I guess Hitler may be one of them. I know for example that gay cannot be placed in a title, which is why you always see people use "g@y" when starting a topic on the subject of homosexuality or whatever.

yes many people died during campains over history however they were not killed on an industrial level like hitler jews were used to help hitler gain power through negative cohesion. However the extermination was not nessesary for him to take power

Adolph Hitler was bad because he tried to wipe out a minority, but Stalin was worse cuz he just murdered everyone, regardless of who they were. He killed millions and millions of poor Russians who did nothing, while hitler is known for killing a bunch of jews. I mean all fingers point to Stalin.

Hitler was way worse in almost every way. Most of the people stalin killed were in his own army due to some very bad intel.

They were both complete psychos but I'd give the edge to Stalin. He killed his own people just for disagreeing with him. Every action movie villain in the history of Hollywood is modeled after Stalin.

I don't think you could brand one more evil than the other honestly lol. Hitler was so close to European domination though, which would eventually lead to world domination. Now that's evil! (He could have easily taken Russia, but delayed the invasion by 1 month to save Mussolini's stupid *** in the Balkans).

Hitler is more evil. Stalin may of killed more people, but he was also in power longer. Also I think Stalin's intentions were political, and not on the basis of genocide. Not really to say stalin was justified it just doesn't seem as evil as hitlers campaign against the jews. Also if I remember correctly Russia had it's own ethnic campaigns.

Stalin treated people like animals, while hitler simply believed certain ethniciies were less. Stalin killed million firmly knowing they were people, he killed politically to save himself. he killed out of cowardess rather than religion. That is more evil to me.

Are you kidding me? Aside from the Jews (who obviously had a bad time under Hitler Germany would have been a superpower and a great place to live, had Hitler not lost the war. Stalin turned Russia into the crap hole that it still is to this day.

I wouldn't know exactly the intentions of either man, so it's difficult to compare them. But I'd definitely prefer to live in Nazi Germany than in Soviet Russia.

Stalin actually modernized Russia on a massive scale. It was much more backwards when he assumed power. Russia was still under a midieval feudal system with serfs well into the 20th century.

I don't think so what so ever.. Both could be considered pyschopaths I suppose, but people don't realize how many people through out history would love to do such things if they had the power to.. I find it absurd to use the term "evil" or "good" ever in judging the behavior of the person..

I sort of agree with this.

Also, I find it outrageous that some of you are saying that Hitler "only tried to kill a race of people." An ENTIRE RACE of people, folks. Actually, it was more than that... he also killed disabled people, homosexuals, Polish and Hungarian civilians, and other people with different religious and political views.

The ONLY group of people he saw fit to live were the Aryans.

*edit* Don't get me wrong, they are BOTH evil... but I don't see how some of you are just throwing Hitlers crimes aside.
