Who was the first superhero?

So in one of my lecture notes it says that the Phantom was the first costumed superhero, but I always thought it was Superman, but then I went on wikipedia and it said it was Spiderman. So who was it?

EDIT: Actually, Buck Rogers came 5 years before in 1929. Really depends on who you call a superhero though.

Zorro was made in 1919.

Zorro IMO, that's if you could classify him as a super hero (Which I don't know why you couldn't, he's essentially batman in Spain)Im_single
