i would love to see it as vibrant as his newer movies. although theyre all stunning, the newest ones seem like moving works of art.
i cant wait for his next film and his sons film. last i heard, they were having troubles distributing it because of copyright laws with the scifi channels version of earthsea
[QUOTE="mattg90520"]it was definently better than howl (though maybe not visually) probably his best imo alongside nausicaa. brilliant movieclarke0
Nausicaa was an awesome movie. Anybody else seen it?
Yeah I've seen it. I actually liked it a lot better than spirited away.

Yeah, it was pretty cool ^_^
spirited away is one of my favorite movies because it is one of the few movies that im emotionally attached to the characters just from watching. i think the only other movie to make me feel such a way was kill bill (quite different, oddly)mattg90520
Miyazaki's characters always seem real and well developed. That's something I can't say about most other anime I've seen.

I heard his son's film wasn't that good.
I saw it and loved it, but some of Miyazaki's other movies are better. Try Princess Mononoke, or Howl's Moving Castle. But don't watch any of the dubbed versions, subtitles are where its at.Mumbles527
Spirited Away is a great movie, but Princess Mononoke is my favorite as well, alwyas with subtitles. Nausicaa was also a very good film.
It was soooo cute and sad :(
I wish dang, what's that girl's name? and that boy's? I wish they could be together. And it was so sad "Walk through that tunnel and do not turn around"
Good movie, I own it :)
Edit- ZOMG Typo
I think Spirited Away is an excellent movie. It shows Miazaki's talent in major ways. However, Princess Monoke is perhaps the best Miazaki movie ever made IMO. But then again, his other works are awesome (Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, etc). I loved Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service when I was a kid. Anyway, whats great about Miazaki is that he makes films for both kids and then some for the older generation.
I liked it, even people who don't like anime may like it in the end.
Any news if there is ever going to be a second?
that was such a good movie i just finished watching it -SiiLeNCE-
I remember thinkkin that after the first time I saw it too. I think the best way to describe it would be "blown away".

that would be cool though i think its unlikely. every new film miyazaki makes he claims is his last. however, everytime he winds up making a new one luckily. either way, it just doesnt seem like something that would happen, sadly
It looks kind of weird to me so I never bothered with it.antonius05
there are so many wierder movies are there that this is really tame, honestly. it has spirits in it and such, but that doesnt make it any worse
it was good, but I loved Howl's Moving Castle better bulletsword
For some reason, watching that movie always reminds me of Final Fantasy. Maybe its the Setzer-esque character of Howl, or maybe its those airships.
Honestly, Disney/Buena Vista's dubs of the Miyazaki movies aren't bad at all. They seriously rival the original dialogue.
I still have yet to see Pom Poko, Porco Rosso, and Whisper of the Heart though.
The ones I enjoyed the most were Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, The Cat Returns, and Howl's Moving Castle.
