I just watched the ending. I felt bad for roddick because he played so well. Federer was just too good though.

In a match like this, you feel bad for whoever loses, because they came sooooo close, and played so well, but only have 2nd place to show for it.

Yeah, especially Roddick who always comes so close...and looses.

He's better than just about everybody except Nadal and Federer. Oh well, he's still pretty damn famous.

I think Roddick gave it away - too many unforced errors and he choked when he was up 6-2 in the 2nd set tiebreaker

Guppy507

Yeah i know, i think he couldnt handle the pressure thats why he lost :( I really wanted Roddick to win :( i m so sad!"

I don't think it was the pressure, he's a pretty well-accomplished tennis player. He has experience. It's just that Federer is too damn good! :x

No.He is not he is beatable player, Roddick could ve beat him :'(

The only person who beats him fairly regularly is Nadal. Roddick has come close, but never beaten him.

I watched it, I wanted roddick to win and he should have. did anyone see roddicks terrible volley in the 2nd set tiebreak while up 6-5? He should have put the set away there never mind the other 3 set points previous to that. If he had just hit that volley in he probably would have won. By the way that 5th set alone was longer than the entire womens final haha, that womens final was quiete pathetic(womens tennis is the worst). Though congrats to Federer for breaking petes all time record.

Roddick has actually beaten him before. There head to head record is something like 20-2 in Federers favor.

He hasn't beaten him in a grand slam I don't think... If he has, which one was it? :P

I watched what I could...I was gutted for Roddick, I wanted him to win...but another part wanted Federer to beat Sampras' record and now he has...Federer is a fantastic player...although, I was kind of glad when Nadal beat him last year:P.

Federer did immensely well to come back like he did in the second set's tie-breaker. The 6 points in a row he won there were what won him the match.

It was nothing like last years final, infact I'd go as far to say that it was pretty boring after about 6-6 in the final set..I just wanted it to finish. :P Federer didn't play well and Roddick blew possibly his final opportunity to win at SW19, shame really. (no shame in losing to Rog though!)

As much as I wanted to see tennis history being made I felt really bad for Roddick. Roddick has always been one of my favourite players, maybe because he is decent guy with a great sense of humour. I think Roddick deserves to win at least once, but tbh I don't see that happening now. He really should have buried that volley at 6-5 in the tie-break to go two sets to love, but credit to Federer for fighting back from 6-2 in that tie-break.

I thought last year's Wimbledon final was better though. Watching Nadal beat Federer and stifle him in his quest to be on par with Pete Sampras was just awesome. Still, Roddick put up the good fight.
