I know it's too early to tell, but tell us who you WANT to be on the ticket and who you think WILL be on the ticket.

Who I want to be on the ticket: Huntsman(President) and Gingrich(VP).

Who I think will be on the ticket: Romney(President) and Gingrich(VP).

Of course I want Huntsman to win the nomination because I think he has the best chance of winning the general election, but with his numbers it's looking less and less likely that he'll pull off a primary win.

I think Romney can win the primary, and has a better chance than anybody else at winning the general election. I also think both candidates are going to use Gingrich as their VP because he's a solid conservative, and one of the GOP's most intelligent members.

Combination of Romney, Huntsman and Gingrich. Anyone other than that will have a tough time beating Obama. Though I would like to see Huntsman/Romney ticket. (or vice versa)

My guess is that it will be Romney. I'm not really sure who his VP choice will be though.

I think it will be Perry, because the media seems deadset on making him the GOP ticket.

I won't argue that, but it seemed like with the debate on MSNBC that that Politico guy was just trying to trap him with every question. Was pretty unprofessional.

He gets the most coverage from most of the popular news outlets from what I've seen. I haven't even heard anything about Gingrich or Huntsman or even Bachmann since Perry has entered the race.

I don't know if that means the media WANTS him to win. MSNBC sure doesn't. Actually, maybe they do with the recent pollings that Americans think he's too extreme.

About Palin, no. About Perry, IDK. I don't share his views on a lot of things but I like his 'mericanism. It would be cool if Romney won the nomination and made Perry his VP. It'd be like Kennedy and Johnson all over again. 8)

I want Palin and Perry for the Republican ticket (although Bachmann would be my second choice, she would add nothing with Palin as the first choice), but I think the ticket will be Perry and Pawlenty.

Pawlenty dropped out, and given he has very little national name recognition, he wouldn't be a draw for votes.

Why would you want them on the ticket? Although that would be a social conservative dream, I think airshocker nailed it with Huntsman/Gingrich and Romney/Gingrich. Social conservative enough to draw evangelical voters, centrist enough to draw moderates.

Palin/Bachmann may be a social conservative dream, but it would be an economic nightmare.

How about Palin and having herself act as her own VP :P

Seriously though the best shot for my vote would be a Jon Huntsman/Ron Paul ticket. I don't think that will happen though. What I would really prefer is to vote for someone who is a democrat and a stronger negotiater than Obama. I won't get that either though.

John Huntsmen and Romney seem like the most sane (even though Romney is obviously acting to try and get the very right to vote for him). That said it honestly wouldn't surprise me if a joke ticket like Perry or Bachmann won.

I'm honestly confused how people support Ron Paul. I respect him in that he's got seemingly more integrity than most US politicians but a lot of his ideas aren't exactly beneficial to 95% of the country.

He merely advocates a vastly smaller government. Like, getting rid of FEMA and the Department of Education. Those aren't bad ideas. States are fully capable of coming up with their own disaster response plans and an agency to implement them. Likewise with education. If the federal government wants to help out, how about it gives block grants and let the States choose how they spend the money in those certain areas?

I think it's more distressing that people have an over-reliance on the Federal government and are completely unwilling to think about what a smaller, more efficient government could do.

Probably Perry, Jon Stewart said it best.. Men like Romney and Huntsmen are too brainy to win the Republican primary it seems right now.. Hell look at the freaking GOP debate of recent memory.. The Biggest and wildest applause was about a question on perry executing over 200 more inmates then any other state.. I mean really?

They were applauding at the way he answered the question, not because of the number of inmates on DEATH ROW.

I like Ron Paul's no nonsense stand when it comes to foreign policy for moral reasons mainly.. But when it comes to anythign domestic, he would have the US government repeal 100 years of government policy.. That is something I don't support.

It is well known that I don't think too highly of the masses when it comes to politics and voting (being educated voters). But even with that said, I still find it very hard to believe that Perry will get the nomination (given his record when it comes to education, his divisiveness even in his own party, his contempt for the US government, his extreme beliefs, etc). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXB8avpzMyI wrong.. It wasn't his response.. The speaker didn't even finish his question before applause broke out about his record breaking execution rate.

Close minded? Thats exactly what he wants to do, he has said him self that he is against the majoriyt of policies and regulations that built this country.. Good for you, but yet again what he is suggesting isn't the US what makes it bad OR good.. He is too extreme, to me he is hopelessly nieve in believing that the free market is infalleable.. Neither the government nor the private sector are perfect..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXB8avpzMyI wrong.. It wasn't his response.. The speaker didn't even finish his question before applause broke out about his record breaking execution rate.

Ah I was wrong about the death row bit, but I don't think it's fair to say they were applausing at the fact that they were executed. I have to admit, I was very impressed with the number. He seems like a no nonsense governor.

You didn't even answer my question, dude.

[QUOTE="mingmao3046"][QUOTE="rawsavon"]It is well known that I don't think too highly of the masses when it comes to politics and voting (being educated voters). But even with that said, I still find it very hard to believe that Perry will get the nomination (given his record when it comes to education, his divisiveness even in his own party, his contempt for the US government, his extreme beliefs, etc). Do not cause me to lose what little faith I have left America, please... Signed, Concerned Texan

who do you support?

There is no candidate running for either party that I support atm. This is not something new though...happens almost every year. I approach every issue like this: Does it affect my wallet or quality of life? -if yes, let us address it -if no, please ignore Few candidates are like this b/c most all lack the knowledge to know how to help with my wallet (or lack the ability due to the need to work with others/get others to work with them). B/c of this, they focus on issues that get people riled up but affect the day to day lives of people very little

Yes because having high numbers means he is a good governor  regardless of the fact he has proven to have passed the execution of a INNOCENT man.. Sorry yet again this is why I will not respect the Republican base due to actions like this..
