[QUOTE="Palax"]Jack Nicholson, William H. Macy, Phillip Seymour Hoffman to add a few more

I wouldnt call jack nicholson a great actor, he pretty much plays himself most of the time. Hes good, but I dont think hes great.
I'll have to disagree, although I will admit that you do have a point.....As Good as it Gets and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest both showcase Nicholson as a crackpot psycho, but I love a good crackpot psycho.
Add Michael Cain to that list and you win:PFilm-GuyFair enough. :P I will also toss in James Stewart, no idea how I forgot him.
Denzel's kind of a limited actor. Has he played anything but a cop is his last few movies (besides The Great Debate). On top of that, I find that he never really sinks into his roles. You'll always know you're watching Denzel, not the character he's playing.Lyphe2k
I agree, I think daniel day-lewis is a better actor than Denzel, there will be blood and my left foot proves it. He really gets into the role he plays.

Some other actors that get deep into their roles are Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and Jeff Bridges. These guys become their roles. Bale completly changes everything about him, the way he talks, walks and looks. Like in The Machinist he was like 100 lbs. and a year later he heavily buffed up to play Batman. And forget about Jeff Bridges, I never even know he's part of the movie til I see the credits.
Oh and anyone else into an actoe named Joseph Gordon-Levitt? The guy's such a great actor with a promising future.

Another actor with a very promising future is Paddy Considine. He was one fo the andys in hot fuzz, the one with the big mustache I think. He was also the reporter in the last bourne movie and he starred in one fo my favorite movies of all time, Dead mans shoes:D Do you know of him?

Ok, I never said he never plays anything but a cop. I am familiar with his work. And the keywords were "in his last few movies".
Just in the last 10- Inside Man, Deja Vu, Out of Time, Training Day, The Bone Collector, The Seige, Fallen etc...
He's still a damn fine actor but I wish he would play for versatile roles.
