True, I totally agree all vehicles that are "premium" whether it's a SS/Shelby/Harley are always overpriced.

Chopper riders.

It'll be a bit longer than that for me. I haven't had cable in like 6 years, so I'll have to catch the new season once it comes on Netflix in a year. For that matter I still need to watch season 3.
choppers are lame since they are expensive and not stable and not very good at doing what a vehicle is supposed to do.
everytime i see some guy with his arms straight up hanging onto his apehanger handlebars and feet up in those highway bars i think it looks like he is visiting his gynecologist.
sport bikes are not much better with the lifestyle they are trying to sell but at least they are stable at speed and competent motorcycles.
to me the one that is coolest is the dual sport riders.
they have a bike that can go anywhere and do anything and are not all hung up on trying to look cool which is the coolest thing anyone can do.
To be fair, harleys are way overpriced. You pay a ton for the name.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Chopper says "I can kick your as....sphault!. Asian bike says I couldn't afford a Harley so I went import instead.Pirate700
And my understanding is that Harley's aren't even all that well built ether. I've spoken to a few bikers who seem to hate 'em.

I own one, and it's fine. Harley went through a metamorphosis in the Reagan years. They were almost out of business, and went to Reagan for help. He raised tariffs on all foreign bikes over 750cc to make Harley more competitive. At the same time they came up with better engines that didn't leak oil. Once Harley was financially sound, they went back to Reagan and told him he could drop the tariffs. My Harley has never put a single drop of oil on my garage floor. It has computerized fuel injection, and gets good gas mileage. It is also one of the best bikes to ride, as it has footboards instead of footpegs. And my understanding is that Harley's aren't even all that well built ether. Some company bought the name and started manufacturing motocycles under the Indian badge a few years ago, but it's not really the same thing.

what's the difference between a biker and a teenage girl?
give up?
teenage girls put in less time worrying about their appearance.
;)
That's not a Cruiser, Cruisers are basicaly what 3/4 of people think are Choppers, Harley Davidson makes mostly Cruisers, not Choppers, a Chopper is usualy a customised ("chopped") Cruiser. What you have is a sports bike.Neither? Both are uncomfortable to ride and impractical compared to a cruiser (well some of the psuedo sports bikes sit you up right enough to be comfortable but those typically arent the ones with any real power behind them) Full discloser I ride a Suzuki V-Strom 650. That bike is nice.

Exactly, when someone says chopper, I think of something like this:
Sports bikers are cooler, Chopper bikers are more badass.cheesyjonWow...i was JUST about to say the EXACT words :P
I wanna know one thing, If sport bike riders are so cool, then why do they keep ending up on the TV show The Smoking Gun Presents: Worlds Dumbest in clips like this one about a wheelie. Guess what happens next. Yeah, real cool.:|
Great link all your showing is a bunch of people who suck at wheelies and guys who are racing.... oh and atleast a fourth of them dont even crashYeah, these sport bike riders are really cool.

I know it's not a cruiser, but the v-strom is a dual sport built as much for cruising as anything else (quite comfortable, standard riding position, not terribly powerful and what not plus mine has been lowered) not at all the same thing as a standard sports bike like my friends ninja 650 (that thing is very fast and would not be at all comfortable for long rides)
lol... after looking at all them chopper pics it made all these guys look like pansies... love BMX though :PBMX
you know how they got up that high? leg strength. no gasoline or motors helping them out.

Choppers are cool, but hogs in general are usually driven by your over the hill 40 year old+ dentist or local software engineer to act "cool".. So I go with Sport Bikes.sSubZerOo
A few years ago my landlord (at the time) comes pulling up into the driveway on a Harley wearing (I kid you not) khaki shorts, a striped polo shirt and sandels along with his tanning bed bronzed skin and wind tunnel tested hairdo. It was seriously all I could do to stifle back laughter. I think that's an image I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

lol you should paint a picture of itNeither one of them. They're kind of on both sides of the douche bag spectrum. We have the white trash who ride choppers because they think they're cool and love making loud noises, and we have the crotch rocket crowd for the same reason on top of going really fast. (Hopefully into a wall.)
The only motorcycle I think I would ever ride would be a cruiser like a Honda Shadow. I really don't think I could see myself on anything else. I would just feel like a dumbass.
I don't consider either of them cool, unless it's on the track, which leaves out everything but the sport bikes. Stereotyping a bit: We've got the squids on sport bikes acting like racers, most of which have a hard time going in any direction other than a straight line. And we have the old leathery skinned, wannabees on Harleys, acting badass, which they are not. I own and prefer a sport bike, but I don't act like a D-bag on it:P
