I've NEVER had a virus while using a PC for >10 years...

Engrish_Major
I have :P But, I know how to get rid of most of them. The worst we ever got was the Chernobyl virus. I think that was on Windows 95, we had to mess with the BIOS to get rid of it. We were lucky, some machines had their BIOS wiped by that one. :o

[QUOTE="deepdreamer256"][QUOTE="MGSFan92"]I didn't find it as being too costly, or overpriced. Though I redid my office downstairs, to give it a modern feel, and I thought the iMac would go well, but I really bought it for the lack of viruses. I was sick of my PC always crashing. With me always having to shell out hundreds to repair it. I figured that overall the Mac would be cheaper than constantly getting the PC fixed. So I try to lay low with the PC and just use it for it's programs. While the Mac takes up most of my internet time.jachichorro

[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="MGSFan92"]You can get a special mouse for that. Though I haven't, as I just use the CTRL + click for those things, it's pretty simple once you get the hang of things. P.S. If I got everyone on this board to hate me, well I must apologize, but I just wanted to be informative and not a thorn in anyone's side...Engrish_Major

Nah, no one hates you. It's just that spending extra money to make something functional "look cool" is kinda weak. Especially when you're spending more than double just for aesthetics vs. the cost for base functionality.

i said the same thing, but when i was looking for a laptop that i would want for college, like a really cool one, the only one that i could find that had everything i wanted and that a mac book had it was only about 200$ cheaper and it was the ugliest thing ive ever seen and way to heavy so i can see why people like macs, because i do lol.. but the biggest reason i made the switch was that viruses were getting out of hand, i kept getting him, ive had my imac for 2 years, and it still works just as well as it did the day i bought it, and its lasted about 2.3 times longer than any pc ive ever had.. so thats why i go with them plus ive got all the consoles so i play enough games as it is

I've NEVER had a virus while using a PC for >10 years...

well i never got the RROD, but that doesnt not make it an issue, i lots of people dont get viruses but im just lucky i guess, The last emachine i got was fried like 2 months after i got it

Please, Macs suck. The computers don't suck, they are good for making music production I'll give it that. But what I hate most is there advertisements, not only are they misleading but they inspire people to become elitist jerks over a computer.

The prices are ludicrous for a 20 inch LCD with a CD drive, it's an embarassment to the consumer electronic industry. I'll understand if it we're made in America, but it isn't. I could go on all day but I don't have the time.

I've never got a virus either, and I only got Antivirus a few months ago.

Why would you pay $2700 for a mac to run 5 programs, when if the programs are pretty basic you could get a PC to do the same for about $300.

I drink the Mac Kool Aid.

But I bought it because it runs ProTools amillion times better than a PC (I've used ProTools on a PC), PLUS I wanted to use Logic, which is in my opinion, the best Audio DAW you can buy.

Besides, its the dudes money. He wanted to try a Mac and has the money to do it and loves it. So your gonna go after the guy? What do you care, its not your money or your life.

I bought an iMac in February and it works magnificently. It's simple to use, and the software includes step-by-steps for everything. I don't really PC game all that much, so I decided to buy this after awhile. Yeah, $2700 may be expensive to some, but the reason I bought it was for the glossy screen, and lack of a tower. More space! If you have the money go for it. P.S. I'm a major splurger:PMGSFan92

$2700? ROFLWTF. I bought my PC for approx $1000, and it annialates any Mac in every single way. (specs in sig)

But I agree, paying $2700 for a glossy screen, more space and inferior performance is totally worth it!

Hate towards Macs comes not from the difference in operating systems or the fact it took years to get a right click etc but from the stupid elitist attitude that Apple seems to have. Buying a Mac shouldn't be a lifestyle choice (ie. being a part of the "Mac community") nor should it be to look down upon boring peasant PC users (ie. "I'm a Mac" adverts). I want to use Macs because they're good at what they do, nothing else, but what they do isn't worth 400 gbp for a budget entry computer.
