Because anime copied art styles from this..... http://youtube.com/watch?v=M9u-SNLzJ9A That Anime never really offered anything new, (sure offered a little bit of new things) Anime is overrated.

Why all the extreme love for anime? Why is the fact that it's japanese automaticly gives a quality stamp over other cartoons? Why dress up as anime characters?

I like anime, and pretty much anything animated, a lot. I even like Naruto (non-dubbed). It's the over-commericalization that kills it. That and really bad voice acting/censorship (One Piece).

I DON'T LIKE IT BECAUSE IT IS STUPID! terrible voice overs, gory violent battles and even the the battles suddenly stop so the combatants can talk to each other for a half hour!! tis stupid

Don't watch the dubbed crap. Watch the japanese! Not every anime has gory battles. But I agree with you on the last part.
