I love the over-priced cliché argument. Knowing where to look can get you a very good deal. My Mac Mini with a respectable spec for running the OS and programs was £200, and my friend recently got a G5 iMac for £280. The over-priced argument only applies to those who attempt to buy directly from Apple, which is not such a good idea.

Yeah, people that hate macs with a passion will beat the macs are more expensive that PC's like a dead horse, the fact of the matter is that one will spend an even amount if not more on a PC over the years in virus protection and software and hardware upgrades makes the argument invalid. And if anyone has ever seen the price ofa vigor or a falcon northewest PC, that renders the argument useless also.
I use free antivirus and it's much better than any Norton of Macafee you have to pay for. IPCop is also free and can protect a whole network of computers.Maybe that's because there is load s compatible software to buy for a PC ;)
Also you've always got things like Foobar, VLC, firefox, thunderbird, windows live tools, GIMP, paint.net and audactity which are all completely free.
Mac hardware goes out of date just as quick, or quicker as from what i've seen the top macs arn't actually at the peak of computer technology, the top Mac Pro comes with a mid range graphics card for instance.
Falcon Northwest are pretty overpriced but then you get extreme quality from them, alot more than you'd get from Apple, custom wiring, top overclocking. Take a look at this for instance.
I don't see FNW as being overpriced. No different than buying a Mercedes. Having them set up water cooling for you for less than $200 extra? The peace of mind is more than worth it.
