Because it's a fact. Had gays been taken care of with Catholicism, we wouldn't have world troubles. But all of todays problems are caused by straight people. What country is run by a gay person? AS i aid in a previous post, the small percentage of this kind of American is sadly the loudest and most heard. Which is a major reason why people hate the USA.That is true of any group...but I don't let that affect how I feel about the majority.:wink:
It's a larger problem in America then anywhere else, due to it's position in the world's mediaand the fact that the small percentage of jerks seem to hog the spotlight for the country as a whole a lot more then they should. I find the worst thing to come out of these small numbers of American are stereotypes. Granted, there is an American stereotype of the loud, McDonalds eating, obese moron, but that's not without some foundation, again due to the exposure of the small number of these "American everymen". However, they've cruelly stereotypesd many other countires inhabitants, and without any foundation, usually, and worse, they are normally actually serious when making these. Take my own country for example, Ireland, if the stereotypes are to be believed, all Irish people have red hair, "Seamus" is a very common name for men, all Irish men are heavy drinkers and are violent wife-beating street brawlers, and we say "Top of the morning to you" as a greeting, and only ever wear green, and most annoyingly of all, every one of us has the same intensily annoying accent, which would be high pitched "Oirish" accent. None of these whatsoever is true. Not even one. In fact, the tradition of wearing green of St. Partick's Day is an American custom, and doesn't even exist in Ireland. Ok /rant, that will probably seem a tad unneeded, but I really had to get that off my chest.Ah....I'm part Irish. Some people stereotype yes. Not all....and the Irish are well liked for the most part. St Patricks Day is rather big.

And??? No one denies it happened. However, you were using it as an excuse to put down the US....when many countries were involved in the same trade. In addition, slavery had existed in many cultures throughout history. This was not an isolated case.

It is true that slavery is a very old practice. But there is a difference between the American Slave trade and slavery in other parts of the world. The man difference comes form that the American slave trade was along racial lines first also the slave trade was generational. By that I mean that if your parents were slaves then you were also a slave. This is different form other parts of the world where a slave could earn his freedom after a set amount of time. In fact that is how American slavery started with the first 20 slaves being brought over being treated more like indentured servants then actual slaves as they did earn their freedom. Also by American I'm not just talking the US but the Americas.
