Why are humans considered intelligent life?

Do you really have to ask? A simple look at mankind's achievments are a testament to our superior intellect. Sure, we do moronic acts as well, but so it goes with the territory.

Personally I think the universe could be some huge giants science experiment and were constantly being observed but just as well we could easily be somthing that was born in like a corner of their closet. specialzed

The very fact that you can imagine such things is why we are considered intelligent life.

We have the ability to rationalize. Most animals don't. harashawn

Still, in all fairness, we might not have the ability to rationalize with a rational alien species that is FAR more advanced than us.

But that still doesn't matter. "Intelligent life" is in English. Those are human words that humans can understand and thst are applicable to humans. If we're intelligent enough to invent the word "intelligence", and actually have that word's human-made definition apply to humans, then humans can be intelligent. And that's all there is to it.

We can communicate in advanced means. Like I am right now, using the forums. For example, I'm pretty sure my cat cannot just jump on the keyboard and write the rest of this post for me... Not only that, but we have advanced infrastructure, highway systems, dams, canals, and ideologies (religion, politics, etc.) Based on our knowledge, other animals do not. GodofBigMacs

Animals have something called a brain. You can look at what their brain can comprehend. You can look at their brain patterns. You can just watch them and tell they are smart.

Dolphins are the only other animals that know they exist.

actually humans can communicate with animals. i can tell my dog to sit and he'll do it, that's communicating.

however animals aren't able to communicate using sophisticated languages because they don't have large enough brains
