why are people in iraq who fight against americans called "terrorist"

First, the original post is major BS. Second, they are not called terrorists. They are called insurgents. They should be called animals.

Just my opinion there, don't take it too hard.

Terrorism is socially defined. If I wanted to, I could say that saying, "Hi" to me terrorizes me, thus you're a terrorist for saying such a thing. People that blow up innocent Iraqis and **** are typically viewed as terrorists.

ok so lets say tomorrow Russia attacks the U.S and invades it, there is no army because the us in INVADED.

The Russian soldiers are raping american woman, killing innocent people and basically ruining our country just like americans are in U.S( and dotn tell me they dont rape or kill innocents people because its on the news all the time)

Wouldnt you fight, not for your president or the country, fight to protect your people, to get the invaders out your country, to get the life you had once back. a terrorist is defined as someone who uses violence or threat of violence to obtain goals that are political, religious or idealistic in stakes. so by that definition they are terrorist, but so is AmericaBig_player

America is a state though, which exempts it from the definition, otherwise almost every state would be using terrorism.

Raping women. Ok, yes this has happened. It happens in EVERY war. A couple of dirt-bag military members that should never have been there in the 1st place fly off the handle commit rape and murder. Yes, it's tragic and those military members deserve the death penalty for their crimes. But don't you ever group all of us who served with honor over there in with those pieces of human waste.

Everything on the news shows how we kill, rape, pillage and plunder? How about the stories of us giving children food and water, securing city streets so their business and small shops can flourish, giving people their homes back to them after Al Qaeda insurgents forced them out, building hospitals and water treatment facilities? What's that, you haven't seen those stories? BECUASE THE MEDIA DOESN'T COVER THAT YOU FREAKING MORON.

Any journalist you talk to will tell you that in modern war, death and destruction is what gets people to tune in. Period. You have no basis talking about a place you've never seen with your own eyes kid. Go there twice like I did and see how your attitude changes. Nah, that's too complicated. Terrorist is just a grossly misused and grossly overused word. If you rob a bank and take hostage you are a terrorist because you are using terror as your leverage. But simply being an opposing soldier does not make a person a terrorist. Not all factions are terrorist.

BUT indiscriminately yet intentionallykiling civilians with bombs is a method of terror. Their goal is to terrify the citizens. Intiminate them with fear. That's what terrorists do. That's what the mafias do. Their method of persuasion is... terror.
