Why are some people against Interracial Marraiges?

I mean who cares if two people of different races get married. They are both human and consenting. People say that the "culture" will be lost but i disagree both backgrounds and culture will be mixed and there kids can learn about both. Plus im a Pakistani boy and i probably get married with a non pakistani since im an atheist, and to tell u the truth i like american culture better than Pakistani , but i will still share tidbits of my culture with my wife and children. I know most people over here have no problem with interracial marriages but i still want to know why people have such a negative connotation towards it.

There is no reason to forbid two different races from marrying and having kids.

Unless youre a believer in Eugenics (correct name?); if that is the case, a white female should not breed with an African male because they have a higher risk of heart disease.

Yeah, tell me about it. Some people are just too attached to traditional perspectives. I am Bengali and an Atheist too, so I am in scenario similar to yours.

Yeah, I was really religious and into Islam. In fact I used to do all the extra stuff like fast an extra week after Ramadan and pray Fajr in the morning. I've actually gotten my brother to leave Islam as well after a lot of talking and explaining.

Some of my great great grandparents married others of different marriages, Thats why im fairly light.

I'm Scots-Irish Catholic and honestly I prefer women who are darker tanned, brunette and exotic. I'm pale as a ghost with a little freckles and I love how thier skin compares to mine. I have a friend. Her mom is Japanese and her dad is from Pakistan .

Well she grew up in Japan and is asian and she is more close to the Japanese culture but still she turned out fine.

well I see them hooking up, but as far as serious relationships, hardly ever do i see a white f and black m.

Donno, it is pretty dumb though. Doesn't matter who you marry...and it doesn't matter what they look like; just as long as they treat you well.

I'm Korean but my boyfriend isn't Asian, he's black. At first my parents were shocked because they thought I was going to be with an asian guy but they wholeheartedly accepted him and so did the rest of the family. And we've been together for 4 years :) Nothing wrong with interracial marriage at all.

Let's put take from the love point of veiw. Marriage is a serious thing and you shouldn't marry unless your in love. If she loves you she would tell you the truth if she has a disease and get tested.

Beyond that, to play devil's advocate, I have heard some people say they are afraid of the effect it will have on child being bi-racial/culture.

Do you even KNOW anything about HIV? it has a 6 month incubation period where all the tests in the world are completely useless. 6 months AFTER your last sexual contact/intravenous drug injection the tests MIGHT be accurate.
