I notice it more and more these days. Heck some guys I know only date Asian women, and watch nothing but Anime. I am not trying to critisize them, I am just curious as to why Japan is so fascinating for some people.

I don't know, I don't really see that a lot though, I see a lot of girls at my school that are obsessed with Insane Clown Posse though so I guess that has equal strangeness.
One of the main reasons I believe is because we are so exposed to their culture compared to most. Secondly some people are strange and obsessive, I myself am very interested in japan and I am going there next year for a couple months to see what life is like, however I won't consider myself to be one of those wee a boos or whatever they are called.
It's a different culture with some nice things, i like some japanese stuffs, i like some Animes and some games, but yeah, some peole really get obsessed with Japan.

fixed for you
I have no idea. A friend of my friends' only watches anime and looks down on anything not from Japan (movies, shows, cartoons, girls, food, games, etc), and he's white. Its really annoying.:?
Couldn't say. I'm not fascinated with Japan and don't like anime. Not that I dislike Japan either. It's just another country to me....LJS9502_basicYa, I'll have to agree with this.
Agreed.I have no idea, personally I am the exact opposite, I see no attraction at all. I hate Japanese anime too.

Because the Women there are really hot,Warship_19Yes, as opposed to the hideous, she-trolls who infest the rest of the globe; fetish much?
I don't know. Possibly because it's quite different from the US culturally, but in a way that people can accept.
I'm not obsessed with Japan, per say, but I do appreciate it's culture and find it more interesting then the US'.
Some people are obsessed with Japan and it's culture. Is it all that different from someone obsessed with Star Trek?

Says the person with Lucky Star characters for they avatar and signature.:P
They have very inovative ideas and technology. They have a rich and deep culture. Some of their entertainment is very interesting. Also, their women can be some real freaks in the bed. I think most people question why others like the Japanese culture when they are not Asian.kakkarott23Hmm...seems a generalization. One would have had to have done extensive research in and out of Japan to form said conclusion. I'd be surprised if any such person existed.....
I was going to ask the TC why did he like films so much, but I thought I would get modded, but yea TC it's the same reason you guys like film so much, whatever reason that is. I forgot to add that japan is also extremely ahead of the curve when it comes to consumer technology, buying drinks by scanning your cellphone = win, some people like that.
i like it because of their anime, games, music, the tech and I guess their women. however I am not that obess with country or their women. there good looking women from all the asian countries, not just japan itself. not a big fan of some of their movies though. kinda cheesy(excluding godzilla) imo.

If I had any sort of knowledge with photo editing, I'd change my avatar and sig more than twice a year.
I don't know, but my friends love anime (not obsessed with it though) and absolutely love Japanese cuisine. I don't watch anime, but I have to say, their food is sweet. But then, I guess it's because North America has absolutely no culture to them
Not to mention they're miles ahead of most other countries with technology. I mean, I think a vending machine over here in NA would seem primitive over there.

I've always wanted to ask about that but I figured I'd get modded. What is US and Canadian culture exactly? When I was watching Mrs Universe I saw everyone come out with a traditional dress but then I saw miss America come out with a racing suit... I was like O_O , then I was wondering what else could she have used... but I couldn't think of anything.

I don't know either, but my view of American culture is talentless hollywood stars and those accursed teen singers. Don't ask me, this is just my opinion because I don't even know what our culture is. :P
