People are just as racist in real life. It's just that they can't get in as much trouble on the internet, so they don't show it in real life. It's sad, but true.Ratfuzz
I know but why are there so many racists??
They may just say it because they know they won't get beat up, but why must they be like that all the time??
Theres so many of them it's like 90% of people are racists.
Because its the internet and they won't get punched in the face?narutorox3
Yup.
Everyone is a little bit racist.
I blame England. I mean it sounds almost like Angleland which leaves me in a mighty racist mood. The Anglers need to quit angling dammit!
Racism is everywhere. Not just on the internet. Living in the south, you get to experience it firsthand. 3eyedrazorback
Its her in north nj but much more subtle.
Anonymity. That's why. Samwel_X
I know but why are so many people like this??
They are racist for no reason.
It's sort of making me dislike my fellow people.

People suck.
Ouch :( My pride.[QUOTE="stripes_green"][QUOTE="narutorox3"]Because its the internet and they won't get punched in the face?alexh_99

Everyone's a little bit racist
Indeed.
They know they won't get in trouble, that's the beauty of the internet. The truth is most people are racist in real life, they are just too coward to express it.Yaeven
Hmmm, racism is far more subtle than some one calling someone else a racial epitath. People can express it in many ways.
I think thats why so many people say they hate rap music, it's because they are actually racist.joshrocks2245Nah, its becuase the music is boring and dosn't require as much talent as most other genres :P

Then let me fix my statement: Most racist people are just too vagina to say it on your face, that's why it's just so easy to see so much racism on the internet and make you wonder why it only exists there when in fact, almost everyone is at least a little bit racist in real life.
As a side note,I have no problem with racist jokes or racist humor so long as it's directed at every race, not just one specifically. When that happens, and when you can take a racist comeback joke from someone else, then I think we can all get along and it's actually fun. There's a difference between hating on a certain race and jokingly making fun of every other one(including yours) as well.
Because its the internet and they won't get punched in the face?narutorox3
My thoughts exactly.
People really take advantage of anonymity.
It's just nice to remember that the racist oens are usually the kids at school who don't have any friends. :D
Most douchebags on the internet are anti-socials in real life.
The Internet gives you the freedom to express any view you have while staying anonymous. Because of that some people go rampant since there are no limitations. In fact on the internet, mostly the most extreme views are being expressed simply because there is no other way for racists to express them without any repercushion at all.
And I don't like rap, but I don't hate black people at all so I don't think that's the case for everyone.
As everyone else has mentioned, it is most profound on the internet because you wont get in trouble for it. As for the cause, I believe that few people are actually racist on the internet, I feel like they are just attempting to get a rise out of people. Perhaps just to see what they say back.
EDIT: To the TC being "ashamed for being white", dont be, contrary to popular belief, not only white people are racist.
Every single time I go on youtube to watch a video, I read some comments and there is always a comment saying something rude towards black people.joshrocks2245
Youtube comments are known for being idiotic, racism is only one aspect of this.
Is it like a popular thing to hate blacks?joshrocks2245
I doubt it, at least nowadays. Michael Richards was hated for his onstage racist rant. Even the Don Imus comments, which didn't seem all that severe to me, sparked a major controversy. Thing is, it's easier to get away with those kinds of comments on the Internet, so it's no surprise that the Internet attracts racists. Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Internet, I'm just saying that's one of the Internet's drawbacks.

I doubt it. I think it has more to do with having a distorted understanding of rap music, because what people will hear more about in offline media will tend to be the more mainstream and/or controversial stuff, which tends to be more about guns and drugs and money, whereas rap with a message seems to be something you'd be more likely to come across on the Internet.

I doubt it. I think it has more to do with having a distorted perception of what rap music in general is like, because what people will hear more about in offline media will tend to be the more mainstream and/or controversial stuff, which tends to be more about guns and drugs and money, whereas rap with a message seems to be something you'd be more likely to come across on the Internet.
truth spokenA lot of these people aren't truly racist... they just act like a bunch of idiots so they can piss others off.smokeydabear076That too. Aside from the anonymity, some people will say what they don't even mean just to see the reaction. I did similar things to less of an extent with an e-mail sent to an admin (of another site, that is) wherein I pretended not to notice certain obvious things just to see how he would point them out. Turns out he found it more funny than annoying...
EDIT: Forgot to mention that it was towards another site.
