[QUOTE="Bloodaxe726"]I thought Cameron was a girls name >_>cryptosopoidium
No, but its the male form of a girl name.
Proof?Since when has it been a girl's name? It's by default a guys name and it's origins lay in scotland meaning "crooked nose", so there's no way in hell the first people to use the name intended to have women given the name...The probably 5 or 6 Camerons that I've actually seen face to face in my life have all been guys, and I recall the only female Cameron I can think of is Cameron Diaz...camreeno360That's just like the name Courtney. Courtney started off as a male name, and has been known as a female name now.

Same thing for Ashley. Ashley used to be a popular guys name in the 18th and 19th centuries.
That doesn't sound like a guy's name at all. Interesting. camreeno360It is. I've looked up the name and it's both female and male. Cameron doesn't sound too much like a guy's name, but that's only because it's used more for females, just like the name Courtney has. Another example is Jamie. Jamie is a nickname of the name James, but it is used as a female name now.
I've known 2 Camerons.
1. Was a snobby, full of himself little **** who did gymastics. He would do flips and kartwheels trying to impress older girls in our school, everyone hated him. One day he just disappeared:shock:
2. Was a anger management sufferer. He was completely bald due to some condition, and got super ****** if you did anything to him. He missed a lot of school, and had an older brother who was as nuts as he was.

It's always been a mystery because it's the best name in the world. There's just something novelty about the fact that it's rare and stands out and is more memorable. And the fact that it starts with a C and is seven letters long just gives it that masculine, superior look. Once again, why are we so rare? Has anyone met a Cameron or currently know of any?camreeno360
Interesting, my last name starts with a C and is 7 letters long. I have a masculine, superior last name according to your logic, no?

Yes, but the name Cameron, first name or last, is always gonna be "superior-er". That's just the way it is. ;)Like Ash from Evil Dead!Same thing for Ashley. Ashley used to be a popular guys name in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Yes, quite so.Well I guess whether or not someone thinks Cameron is more of a girl's name depends on where you live, because I have always lived around people who firmly concider it a guy's name. Just the way theres that "on" at the end kind of gives it away. Jamie in the other hand sounds weird on guys, for me becuase there's that "ie" at the end that gives it kind of a girly sound...You know, like Britney, Allie, Stacy, Tracy, again with that "ee" sound at the end. camreeno360Just because it has an "ee" sound at the end doesn't mean it's a girl's name. Tracy and Allie are also used for guy names. Take a look at the name Alex. There are girls with the name Alex. Why? Because not only does it come from the name Alexander, but it also comes from the name Alexandra and Alexandria. Look at the name Renee. Renee is a French girl's name, but Rene is a French boy's name. They both sound the same. The name Ray. There are different spellings. Ray, Rae, Rei, Rey... Either way, the name is both female and male name.

And that one ass in Gone with the wind.
Well, my name's Cameron. And there's a Cameron in my phys-ed class. I usually just go by Cam though. Your right, I know Cameron is a unisex name, but thinking back I can only recall Cameron Diaz. I don't think I've ever met a girl named Cameron.RitardFinally someone agrees with me. That would be cool if we got enough of us and started a group. (sure that's not gonna happen though)

Cameron is rare for a guy because its a girls name.EVOLV3I think we went over this already...With the fact that it's not a girl's name. Wow thanks for nothing.

Here's a couple of websites that says about Cameron:
CAMERON
Gender:Masculine & Feminine
Usage: Scottish, English
Pronounced:KAM-u-run, KAM-runFrom a Scottish surname meaning "crooked nose" from Gaelic cam "crooked" and sròn "nose". The Camerons were one of the great Highland clans.
Behind the Name
Cameron.

I think this validates the fact that we're the best. camreeno360No, it doesn't validate that you're the best, because saying "best" is just an opinion. :) It is simply saying that Cameron is both a female and male name.

Yes, quite so.Duly noted *changes name to Cameron Cameron*
I know one cameron and have known one other.
The one I used to know was the most spastic redhead I have ever seen. He was hard to be around. Really hard to be around. Eventually got bullied out of school, way back.
The other one I know is a bit of ratbag. He pretends to be a conservative Christian guy but he constantly tries to get into womens pants. He... smells like fake. Strongly. He can be a bit of a nasty guy too.
One time he pretty much started bragging about just how muscular and strong he was... I lol'd. He was sitting with a bunch of guys who go to the gym like every single day, he didn't know though. It was epic, mean raised eyebrows and 'wtf' looks going around, which he TOTALLY missed of course.
Apparently, according to a mate of mine who is closer to him than me, he used to set up dates with his girlfriend and then bail when she had already arrived at the location and then text her saying "I'm sorry I can't come I have to go see this rugby game" and then when they texted back asking what the hell was going on he would reply along the lines of: "Stop nagging me! If you start nagging me I'll leave you!"
Such a charming guy.
Theres why camerons are so rare. Because they are all ratbags. My experience tells me this must be true.
