Why are women considered equal as men?

Ya, I agree. However, there are more women in the world than men, but men still dominate the world in politics and earning money. Also, men are smarter, it's a fact. Boys score higher on the SATs in high school, and men score higher on IQ tests. But it isn't by much and the gap is closing in.

That certainly is not a fact. I've never read anywhere that men have been proved to be smarter than women. In fact, to my knowledge there is no concrete way to gauge somone's intelligence anyway.

Larger brain =/= Higher intelligence anyway... A blue whale has the largest brain of any organism, yet there are numerous animals, as well as humans, which are more intelligent.

This brings to mind a letter from the newest issue of Game Informer:

"There's one thing about video games that I just can't figure out.  Why is it so hard for most women to understand video game controls?  My girlfriend complains that the games I buy are too hard and complicated.  Now, is that our faults as men?  I tried to explain to her that it was because a portion of her brain was smaller than mine.  The number of women gamers is growing, but there are so many women who can't experience great games like Okami, God of War, or even The Legen of Zelda because their brains can't handle more than three face buttons.  I think developer's should create a specific difficulty mode for women: "Girlie."  Don't get me wrong, I love ladies.  I just hate having to turn off my game because my girlfriend can't figure it out"

Looks to me like his girlfriend isn't very bright.  I've encountered girls that can play games as well as guys.

Same here, if not better.  But I don't think not being able to use hand eye coordination effectively is in any way a reflection of intelligence.

   Anyway, about women being equal to men: equal?  How can that be?  We are completely different.  Equal rights, ok that's fine.  But I am not in agreement of lowering requirements for certain jobs(firefighting for instance) to just be "fair" or for equality.  Those requirements are not there to shut women out or degrade them, they are made to ensure the person is qualified for the job.  If a women can haul a 200 pound man out of a burning building, I am all in support of her.

The notion of both sexes being equal is idealistic to the extreme.  We are not, and should not try to act like we are.  Men are better at certain things, women are better at others. 

But we are certainly not equal.

we tell them they're equal so they'll shutup lol.   but in seriousness,  we are only "legally" equal and we are equal. through gods eyes.  other than that everyone is different has advantages and disadvantages over each other.

Yes, it is a fact. All you have to do is type "IQ Tests" in the search engine at wikipedia.org, press enter, and look at the section where it says "Sex and intelligence".  You think Wikipedia.org isn't a reliable enough of a source? I've read magazines that have said men score higher on the SATs and IQ Tests. In just about every psychology class I've taken, I'm majoring in it, all the professors have said men score higher on IQ tests.

It is still debatable how accuraetly the SATs and IQ tests can measure aptitude and intelligence, but as of now I think that is the best way of measuring. Nontheless, men still score higher thus are smarter based on statistics. 

As far as brain size, I recently heard something about brain size with men and women in psych class. I don't remember exactly what one of the presenters said. I don't think it has anything to do with intelligence.   

Women may not be remotely as strong as men physically but mentally they can be stronger. Of course not all the time though.Marioarm2
