thanks to denial im immortal
why be scared of something that happens every day its a natuaral part of life theres nothing to fear
unless your worried about being forgotten
Eh, at that point it's inevitable. Why fear it?
I'd be more scared to live forever. You're bound to see.... Everything
It would be like torture. Ex. Getting hit by a car. You won't die, even with your insides and stuff all over the pavement,Eh, at that point it's inevitable. Why fear it?

I had a period where I obsessed over death constantly. This stemmed from a 'trip' where I saw myself dying and left in this empty eternity. I thought about the horros of this and it used to effect my life. Then, I had a talk wiht my friend, who I found out also had a similar obsession. He told me about death being neither a bad nor good thing. Let it just come, and when it happens you'll be in a state like a fetus. And kind of like a fetus, something may happen like birth, and since there was no existence you wouldn't know how long that state lasted for. It's best to just live life how you want lo live it, and what ever happens happens. There isn't anything we could do about it, just enjoy the gift of existence while it lasts!
Theres nothing to guarrantee life after death will be pleasant. I would like a guarrantee that nothing happens after death but life seems too complex for it to be as simple as that.
But your not 100% sure nothing will happen. Unless your 100% sure, then you assume the worst. Why should I be scared of death?
I'll be dead when it happens, so I've got nothing to worry about.

ahh, FF IX, love that game (especially Vivi)
and my question is, why aren't more people NOT afraid of death? what's the point of fearing the inevitable
You're never going to get that garauntee. Keep looking, and if you do find answers, you'll soon discover that they're just made up in your head. Most likely, unless you want to believe the religous route, death is just a big nothing. I take comfort in that. If I live a strong life, I think I deserve an eternity of nothing. That would be kind of like heavan.Theres nothing to guarrantee life after death will be pleasant. You fear something that will kill you or hurts you.Death kills you and hurts you.i am scared of death. i sure hope the atheists are wrong . People think that death will be a endless black void but its even less then that. a black void is empty space . We will be in sheer nothingness

I'm not even religeous and even I thought that was low. :|
How so? The entire foundation of religion is fear. The idea of Heaven and Hell is merely used to sate the fear of the unknown.[QUOTE="Miyomatic"][QUOTE="LiftedHeadshot"]Why? Because they believe in the lie that is Christianity.LiftedHeadshot

We won't really know that it's nothingness, though...would we? I mean. . .when we die . . . and we just rot in the ground. . . our brains would rot away and turn to mush(. . . i would imagine that it would be all nothingness...but...ack! It's hard describing an infinite nothingness which cannot actually be "seen" or "acknowledged"
What's wrong with that? It's only bad because you falsely attach the meaning of it being bad to it. But since it's really nothing, it truely can't be bad.i am scared of death. i sure hope the atheists are wrong . People think that death will be a endless black void but its even less then that. a black void is empty space . We will be in sheer nothingness

You fear something that will kill you or hurts you.Death kills you and hurts you.People have a drive to countinue living, but they also fear the unknown...Death is simply an unknown, know one truely knows what happens "after" death untill dying themselves
We could end up burning forever in the fiery pits of hell, living in a paradise above the clouds, simply going into a state of uncounciousness forever (like and endless sleep), or some other occurence we, as humans, couldn't possibly dream of. We just don't know, so why worry about such things?
I guess because I just fear the unknown. This may sound cheesy but in my heart, I think I know what death is, but I still fear it. I wish I didn't.

''people fear what they do not understand''
I wouldn't mind that....:P Only if I can keep my youth of course. It would definitely be hell to live forever as a decaying old man.....Eh, at that point it's inevitable. Why fear it?

that was a rather hollow statement lacking any evidence or argument to back up your arrogance So I need evidence to disprove religion but religion needs no evidence to have millions blindly following it.[QUOTE="LiftedHeadshot"]Why? Because they believe in the lie that is Christianity.boba707
Death will come to everyone in time. The only thing one has to fear is if they have not reconciled with their loved ones before death comes.
