Recently, Ive been very sad/depressed....school sucks, family problems etc....Im always a bit down. But even when I am happy, something always comes up andĀ brings me back to depression again....it feels really awful.

Now, I am a teenager, so maybe this is just a phase...but are there any things that could help me?

Well you could always talk with some specialist. That has helped me a lot, much better than medication.

The key is to stop caring about other people :)

But be careful what specialist you choose. A lot of them will actually make you worsen...

Do something to make it better. Sitting back and feeling sorry for yourself will no solve anything. Get up and do something that you enjoy, then decide on some way of improving your current situation.

Is there someone you can talk to? Talking helps and expressing your feelings. It might sound lame, but it is better than the alternative, which could lead to worsening depression and/or suicide.

Your hormones might have alot to do with it.Ā  I turned 16 recently and sometimes fell how you described.Ā  Try not to worry about it dude.Ā  Try just listening to some happy music, watching happy movies, laughing with friends and stuff.Ā  I have mood swings, and I know I am having them, which makes me angrier
Just don't worry about it; it'll pass I'm sure.

I found that keeping myself busy and finding a hobby (or hobbies) really helps. These forums are great to pass the time, but when I spend a lot of time on here I get really down for some reason. I feel like I'm wasting my life. So, I'd recommend that you try and keep busy and hang out with friends or make new ones etc, and maybe get into working out or playing a sport, anything to take your mind off it.

Why don't you get a hold of some anti-depressants? That's guaranteed to cheer you up!

The only thing that cheers me up when I feel sad is read Garfield Strips, or watch funny videos.
