Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The First amendment isn't there to protect polite speech, or speech everyone is fine with, why would that need protecting?
I think a better question is "why shouldnt we stop them?"
As much as I disagree with their agenda and/or message, I cannot think of one objective reason why we should prevent them from assembling and speaking freely.
Those laws are unconstitutionalActually, there are states that ban the practice of picketing funerals.

Quite right or you would have posted an argument. Let them have free speech. They are making a mockery of christian religion, which can only be a good thing.
To make sure that everyone knows that every bad thing that happens in America is because the government is not rounding up and executing homosexuals. Why are they protesting?

They are displaying their own views on what they believe religion is. These views are quite different from my own and many others who are also religious.

To be fair they hate everyone equally, they represent christians to perfection.
No, seriously, they say that troops are dying because America "tolerates" homosexuals. Their anti-gay stance is the basis of all their protests, unless they've branched out. I don't care to pay enough attention to them to know if they have.To make sure that everyone knows that every bad thing that happens in America is because the government is not rounding up and executing homosexuals.[QUOTE="xaos"][QUOTE="whitetiger3521"]

Because "Love thy neighbor as thyself" means to hate others.

I don't care to pay enough attention to them to know if they have. But all christians are against homosexuality, these guys are just more vocal them most. However most christians feel the same.
[QUOTE="JasonGriffee"]Those laws are unconstitutional we've stepped on and destroyed the constiution in a thousand ways but oh once something like this comes our government can somehow find the decency to obey it.Actually, there are states that ban the practice of picketing funerals.

I'm pretty sure that most Christians don't believe that the tornadoes in Joplin and troop casualty rates are directly attributable to God's displeasure with the US not having a policy of executing gays. Any Christians want to weigh in on this and prove me right or wrong? But all christians are against homosexuality, these guys are just more vocal them most. However most christians feel the same.
