sad your prophet jesus (http) was quite the wine connoisseur, wouldn't be too sinful to follow his example right? what sort of wine was it? a normal grape juice, or an intoxicant one? christians still confused over this and their lack of originial manuscripts.Actually, wine in those days was of varying degrees of fermentation, but was most certainly fermented to some degree as that was the only way to ensure a clean drinking liquid. Water was obviously contaminated back in those days due to them having no access to modern purification processes and thus drinking wine was one way of hydrating while avoiding the danger of illness. Jesus drank wine, and Biblical passages support this:
"For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and "sinners.'" Luke 7:33-34
We can infer from this that Jesus drank fermented wine, but again not of the same level of fermentation, necessarily, that we consider wine to be.
