I'm not a jerk or a douche and we've been friends for like some time, and they've made it obvious that they think I'm good looking. We flirt a lot, but when I actually ask her to date me, she hesitates. I'm not really seeing 'signs' that aren't there. They've made it clear in no uncertain terms that they like my personality and like how I look, so why the hesitation? Oh, and it's not because they've heard some stories about how I sleep around or anything. I'm a virgin. It's not possible.
Friend zone, simple as that. You have to be more confident and ask girls out before you're good friends. You need to take risks; if you wait until you have absolute concrete evidence that they like you in any way you'll likely have known them too long and it becomes awkward.

It's not that women won't date their friends. In order to be able to maintain a meaningful relationship, you better be great friends. It's just that they don't think of you as anything more than a good friend. Believe it or not, men can also feel the same way...though it's rarer.

So how did like.. umm my brother AND sister both end up dating their best friends? I'm the youngest, and it fails lol. They were best friends for 4years, and now they've been dating for 2(and in my brother's case, 1). How does that even happen?

I think being friend is a good place to start a relationship, but being too good of a friend could literally kill any chance of being romantically involve with the ladies... sometimes its ok to be a douche, when it comes to those you like

Because there was a spark for both parties. If someone doesn't feel an attraction towards someone, they just don't. You can't control who you're attracted to. You could be everything that a girl could ever want, but if they're not attracted to you, it's probably not going to happen.

Warrior, I forgot to mention something that could help.....I saw this advice in a thread the other day and was quite impressed. This may be your only chance for busting out of the zone:
Your in the friend zone, stop talking to her for like 5 weeks and act busy. Get some new clothes and when you talk to her again you won't look like a friend anymore and will be interesting.

Seems solid enough, except for the notion she might be so offended by you freezing her out for 5 weeks straight with no apparent reasonable reasons behind it, chances are you're setting yourself further back in the race than where you were to begin with. I know i'd be helluva pissed if one of my good friends freezed me out like that.
