Why do black people take racism so seriously?

Everytime there is a racist joke against black people there is an outrage

but if a black person calls a white person a cracker or white devil or honkey we dont care.

example: I was in class and a couple obnoxious black girls were sitting in the back of the class and this was the day after Obama won, and one of them said really loud "OH YAH GIRL OBAMA WON!! THERES GONNA BE LOTS OF SALTY CRACKERS WALKIN AROUND TODAY!!" (cue the obnoxious laghter from all black girls)

and noone said anything. I laughed cuz i thought it was a clever funny joke, and a couple kids giggled.

However, if McCain won and i said the opposite, i would of got ravagged and thrown out to the street

I agree with TC. I'm white and I don't care if anything says anything, but if you say one word you are labelled. Anyway, blacks are racist to each other...........but whites aren't (usually)

inb4 why so srs? I guess most people would take racism seriously if they got exposed to it every day, to a certain degree. I don't see a whole lot of white racist jokes, mostly the racist jokes are about dumb black people.. I'd be pretty pissed if I got made fun of every day for my skin colour..Deihjan

I'm not racist, but if they want to stop getting made fun of, they can easily change. If they just start talking straight and stop trying to be "thug" then they wont get made fun of. I have black friends who don't act thug or gansta, and they just get along fine with everybody, including the white boys.

Considering that white people are in the vast majority, have never been discriminated against in any meaningful sense, and do not have a history of being enslaved by black people, the double standard seems to make sense to me.GabuEx

Well racism itself is often an insecure thing, but like you said about the white people acting thug, I think anyone that acts thug deserves to be made fun of. It's a stupid thing to conform to, just be yourself.

I think what leads to further more problems, is when black people hold grudges over random white people for something that had no part in. I actually have this amazing ability to not see color, I only see the way people act. We are all made of the same thing- and I actually find all races sexual attractive on that last note.

I think this is the biggest problem right here^^ when people start thinking of other people as just people instead of this US vs THEM things will change. Not everyone is like you, people come from different back grounds, social, economical, ethnic etc. Personally I think the world would be pretty boring if everyone spoke exactly the same and dressed the same.

This is the problem though. It didn't happen to YOU. Just because your skin is black, you might feel you have responsibility to try and avenge in someway what happened to black people hundreds of years ago by taking it out against white people who really didn't do anything today. We're all human, the further away we can get from your thinking, the closer we can become.
